Hey yall i just spent about 6 hours updating/fixing my game "Gone Fishing" if you tried it before you probley got about 10-20 fps which sucks but i brought the color down from 32 bit to 16 bit which makes it run much faster making it much funner. I also added granades which i was having a blast with. The only thing that is wrong with it now is that the fish's AI if fishy. They always end up swimming towards one wall but i'll get my shit together one day and fix it. Here are the screen shots i took.

The reason i didn't upload the game is because it's 13MB! Which is hugh for a 56k modem user like me. The reason it's so big is because the background music song is like 13MB when the file is unzipped! Does anyone know how to make the wav file smaller and so darkbasic can still run it. And i would like any feed back you can give me. If you want me to upload the game just say so and i'll do it (about an hour). Thanks!

Dark Basic can support MP3's. If your cant, I dont know why, but mine can. Find a converter to convert the wav to MP3, they're much smaller.
Example: WAV 34.25 MB Sound File-Converted to MP3 3.43 MB Music File. Lots of Difference!

At first glance, I'm a mediocre mech pilot. Look again and you will see my battlemech's computer code rushing through my eyes. My Mech And I Are One!

sry i forgot the controls
it would be a good idea to learn these

on foot and in water:
W=move forward
S=move backwards
A=slide to the left
D=slide to the right
mouse=look around
left click=shoot
right click=throw garnade
space=jump
E=get in boat

in boat:
W=speed up
s=slow down
mouse=turn
E=get out of boat

temp weather controls:
upkey=raise water
downkey=lower water
rightkey=night time
leftkey=fog
The weather will be random in the future.

Things to know
In opitions you can change your resolution for slower machines
The fish all swim to one wall. (Bad AI)
The sky has a kink in it. (Dark basic flaw!)
The walls disopear in fog or night modes. (Dark basic flaw!)

Please report any problems.

Alright, it's a lot better because it runs faster, but I think that when you move you should move a LOT faster. Also, for some reason when you press the windows key (which I did to check the keys) and then maximize it, the screen just flashes a lot and you can't get it to go back to normal...which is wierd...

erm...I think the sky sphere should look a little better (though I can't help ya there, hehe). Textures could be better. If you want me to do some textures E-Mail me...

homeyg@mad.scientist.com

...and lemme know what kind of textures you're looking for. I can also do some programming though I'm sort of a n00b to 3D, hehe...

I could whip up a fancy main menu for ya...that'd be fun

Just e-mail me and lemme know, I'm interested

I don't think i really want to mess around with online games. I think the hassle will over weight the reward of it. Plus you always need to have people online or have to set up a game every time you want to play. But i am thinking of doing a time limit and seeing who can get the most points in a amount of time. When i get a webpage up and running i will have it so people can upload there hiscore file and beable to compare them with others. And P.S. the highest score you can get is 10000 (100 fish at 100 points each). Thanks for the feedback!
