Well, I recently got a job, creating buildings and other models for a game called Aligasia Online by DeltaGaming. And well, I decided i'd post some pics here, to see if you guys could figure out anything that i might be able to do better.

Mansion (156 tri's) and Tower (tri's)

Church (168 tri's)

Outer Wall (86 tri's)

WIP Stone Bridge (126 tri's)

so what do you guys think? anything i could do better? i was trying to keep it low poly as not to lag.

id say detail, the mansion mainly it needs more detail, maby try a normal map,, it looks uved okay but id try and merge it more, the mansion has a quite boring texture, try adding worn areas, make it more beliveable and i think your employers would behappy

cheers cb

They're very basic, boxy models that are seemingly textured with photographs. Which in my honest opinion isn't very appropriate, try making your own textures, it'll make it look a lot better and give you more flexibility as well. Also try adding some lightning or detail into the textures as now the look like what they are, boxish models with photographs on them.

Quote: "detail"

From the Entity Workshop screenshot I can see these models are for FPSC, FPSC models have to be pretty low in polygons.

If you actually read my post I said that he should add detail in the texture, not the model.

@Tanya - no they are not FPSC ready, and unfortunately, im selling them to the guy exclusively. However, if you all want, i can make some other fantasy models and sell them as a pack for FPSC.

@GM - thanks, and i was just using Entity Workshop to make sure the texture lined up XD

@Alucard - yes, i realize they dont look very good, and i can make much better looking ones, problem is it takes longer to make the better looking ones, my boss/employer/whatever was looking to having these done fast so he could put them into the maps. And so far he seems very pleased with these.

As for the custom textures, im working on making some of my own, however they are rather horrible, so i use pictures i took, and got from other sources, till i can actually make some good ones of my own. Besides, i think they look pretty good anyway.

That is a cool watchtower. Try to give it a more towering and realistic feel. The roof looks alright, but could use some detail on its poles. The upper stone should have a design of some sort.

Best,
Beaste
