FPSC Classic Product Chat / ip adress problem can anyone help

okay i made a small 3 player deathmatch map and it worked okay on my laptop it would let me run a server and it also worked out aand showed me my ip adress but when i went on my computer to join the server it said my ip adress was fe80 and then i couldnt join a server but i could run one that no one could join also it could'nt see the server my laptop was running on the list

if anyone has ne ideas plz post

i havent upgraded it with any of the downloads as i dont no what to do with it after downloading. yes i am new at this lol

We need more information, basically the following:

1) How are BOTH computers connected to the internet
2) Operating system and service pack of BOTH computers
3) Whether you have a firewall or router

If you can't answer these, we won't be able to help you. My best guess would probably be the windows firewall, so add an exception in for it or turn it off.

both a re working on xp one home and one profesional i think they have all service packs but not sure and the computer is connected by cable to my router and my laptop is wireless. i do have a firewall but i already have exceptions for my fpsc game or so it says.

well your laptop is wireless? then if thats the computer your running your game on you need to port forward i can help but you need to figure out the ports when you do tell me and ill help with the rest.
