Its been a whilesince I started something new so this morning while the girlfriend is out I started on the Avenger. Polycount at the moment is around 2500 but I anticipate this to reach around 5000 by the time the mesh is complete.

I have just got the turret, cockpit, tail, hook and rear undercarridge to finish

I give up with this banner thing as it never seems to work for me. I will now stop wasting mu time.

That is a pretty cool model you got there. I would love to see this thing finished and textured.

Oh, your sig has a typo in it, thought I should point that out.

Cheers mandric, yeah I know my sig has a typo, I was drunk at the time and now I kinda like it. your the first to notice/ tell me in six months.

I have manged to get the bomb bay done and animated as well as the undercarridge, tweeked the cockpit a bit and made a start on the tail. To be honest I am shattered now and gonna have a rest before a big day at work tommorow, will post some pics soon.

Made a start on the turret and just have a few details to add to the cockpit but other than that nearly finished the geometry. Managed to find the source of the jump in polycount, somehow I had managed to clone the fuselage ! Its now down to a more respectable 3200 polys.

Ok finished adding all the geometry, I am quite happy with it now, thought I would post these up before I start the texturing.

Poly count is 5793 so I may do a LOD version as well

Is it just the render or is that extremely smooth?

Oh, well, I'm no modeler, and I won't pretend to be.

(I can't even model a simple ship without screwing something up. I'm still really good at programming. )

Ive got the base colours done and am just beginning to add the decals.

Ive got most of the limbs turned off to make selecting the correct object a bit easier, I really should name stuff properly as I go along instead of doing it afterwards.

Hope you like

Got the details of the texture on, still need to add some wear and tear to it.

Stunning aircraft there Frap.

What will you be doing with it? ... selling it or giving it away?
If by chance giving it away, I could desperately use it for my little flight sim project .

Thanks Fraps,

It is a wonderful creation, and I totally understand. I do wish you all the success in the world .... there are many very talented creators on this site.

I am basically making this project for the fun of it ( it has been a great learning experience so far), and it will be freely given away (non commercial), so I am not in a position to sink any money into it. (the pension is not very much in Australia).

Keep up the great creations.

EDIT: Damn your aircraft look great. I have bookmarked your site. Might have to try and scrape up a little money and get 2 of your creations when the opportunity allows. They are just too good.
