I got so frustrated with x 10 with it's lack of working models that I left it to collect dust. I come back 8 months later and not one thing has changed. no upgrade to the software, no conversion of the old models.
mean while they launched a new software (dark..something, most likely incomplete too.)and they want me or us to buy it.
I will not buy another thing from this company that is incomplete. they just want our $ and could care less about making sure their software run properly.

Well, you can make your own models. I could not be more happy with the software. To top that I have got most models to work from the game creator store in X10 along with the model packs. Just have to mess around with it a bit.

Doomdwars - If you have got most model packs working in X10 why not let eveyone know how you did it in a tutorial?

You could even sell the tutorial if it is good enough and works 100% with all X9 model packs, I would buy it for one!!

I emailed my post to all the emails that I knew of, from game creators. I got a responce. I copied and pasted for your viewing. my comments will follow.

Model packs 1, 2, 3, and 16 have been converted to X10. The models require additional mapping and shader support. We are also working to get the TGC Store online. Over the last year most of our efforts have gone into TGC's new store system.

Furthermore, we've never sold any model packs on the X10 website nor have we advertised their compatibility with the product. We sell them exclusively on the FPSCreator V1 website for that reason.

The company will eventually get around to converting the packs to X10, but we have to prioritize keeping the company strong and thriving.

it was not signed.

1. those models packs that have been converted were done ages ago.
2. their trying to get the store online going, why? to make more money. which is fine, but you need to take care of the problems with the existing models first. I could almost remember when x10 came out there were alot of questions about the existing models with fps. I'm sure some comment from them was made that we would not have to repay for our purchased models. which is why I went ahead and bought x10. I didn't know, however that they would shove it on a corner shelf and not bother with it at all.
the company is
Quote: "prioritizing"
because making more money is more important.

and to answer other questions. I have the correct specs, the software runs well. just very little options populating your game.

You are being rather impatient. Do you realize how much they have to deal with on a daily basis. They lack the necessary staff to work on everything at once. They lack the funds to hire more staff. Because of this, they prioritize certain things. If that is a problem for you, go elsewhere. I am sure you could fine similar software elsewhere for the same amount of money. Oh, wait! You can't find this type of software elsewhere for the same price!!!!!

You really need to lighten up.

You know your code sucks when it does what you want before you know what you want.

It really is. That's why they are a "for profit" company.
Anyway, all of this was addressed in the thread that I linked to earlier.

It is a shame that they bring out software they say "can do this, this AND this!!!" but can only do "this" when it's released, they patch it up and then release another piece of software that "can do this, this AND this!!!" but again, barely does "this", patch it up and release another..... You get the picture.

Apparently another product is on the way, called GreenEAR, whatever that is...

From the DBPro Upgrade 7.1 Beta Test thread:

C'mon TGC! Focus on the products you already have! Quality over quantity is aways better...I'd much rather a small handful of unbelievable products than many good products...Builds up a better reputation too.

TGC should let Lee work on FPSC full time. Other good programmers can support DBPro and the other apps.

Nobody knows the FPSC source code like Lee so without him we can't get any updates.

I disagree. Lee MADE the software that MADE fpsc. Us DarkBASIC people need Lee just as much as you need him, just be patient, TGC have loads of supported products, what you want will come eventually. Just wait...In any case, Lee is the CEO of TGC, so he IS tgc, how can other people "let" him focus on fpsc, when he is the lead of like all development...?

Perhaps it is time for TGC to finally expand their programming environment and hire more programmers?

don't be an idiot. you know what I ment when I said them making money is more important. We have a legitimate gripe and don't need to be bashed by others. It will be the ones raising the issues that will get things solved around here.
and before you say I called you an idiot, I didn't. I said don't be one.

Yeah I'm regretting buying this myself. I was so set on using this because of the cost and being able to sell your game. I should have waited till there was some real support.

Think I'm going to focus on modeling and using more developed and far more supported engines like source and the crytek engine.

So you model? Whats wrong with FPSX10 for your modeling?

*points and laughs*

Lucky you, having the option of buying a $100,000-$350,000 game engine is not possible for me.

That's what I've been doing since summer--building up my library of media so that when X10 actually is fit for making releases, all I have to do is put it all together or whatever. I'm at the point where I've done as many reskins as humanly possible so now I'm moving on to custom segment meshes...

The thing is, whether X10 was getting support or not, I still would have had to do this. I get what you're saying though crumbaker, I too have been playing around with the Cryengine 2 and been rather impressed...

One of the main reasons I bought it was for soft particles.

Guess what wasn't there when I installed X10.

Just wondering, is that not false advertising? Plus, the website also states that new model packs "are being released all the time".

You should be careful TGC before you get caught up in a lawsuit.
