Looks like "the-round-things-in-front-of-the-gun" (well... forgot its name again...) is too hi-poly. Other wise GJ, I like it...

Accoun/ glad you like it ,i dont think that the-round-things-in-front-of-the-gun are to high poly ,the total poly count for the gun & mag is only 952 .

It looks really good mate,
I agree with you. I think the poly count is very reasonable, are you planning on texturing the model, and possibly animating?

Cylinders. And in my opinion they're just fine. The gun itself is pretty low poly anyways so.

Separate texture just for the mag? That's an awful waste of space.

yes & no mate its 2 models the gun & mag are 1 ( i will combine the mag map with the gun map )& the mag will be a pickup model so it needs its own texture map.

Good stuff mate!
You need to make the brush harder where the white grazes are on the mag, so it will look more roughed up. Are you using any normal or spec maps? Also is your laser sight going to be active? It's possible if you put 4 transparent planes and box them together with a laser texture like Jfletchers M4 and for the crosshair you could just make a laser dot.

Keep it up, I'm keen to see the rest textured!

Maybe bring the trigger out a tiny bit more? I'm not sure, it would look great either way.

The screws all look really odd, too bright and not so metal-like.

I like the way the laser sight is part of the mag, even though that probably makes it expensive to manufacture.

One more crit, the way you do your scratches and wear and tear is way too soft, you want it sharp, don't use a really soft brush.

The texture starting to look very nice !

I recommend to don't use photoshop Bevel and Emboss .
I know they are addictive but creating your own light map/shadow/depth would give you a much better result.
