I wrote tetris! Yeah! I know it's not much, but I wrote it anyway to prove that I can. Please download it and tell me what you think.

Very good. The only real problem is that the main game is a bit too dark and why is rotate the SHIFT key when CURSOR UP is the usual key to use ?

How about adding special 'weapons' (like bombs, weird shapes etc) next ?

Its better than a poke in the eye...

I like it. Agree that UP should rotate, then you can use one hand. RETURN for selecting menu options should also be allowed as well as SPACE.

Cool particle effects. I've always liked tetris, so it was obvious I would download this the moment I saw it!

It's a very cool game. Congrats I hope to make something just like soon. Now I wish I could get that tetris music out of my head.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHANGE THE CHANGE KEYS!
i have shift & ctrl set as stickykeys, and i have turned them off but they kept activating and deactiveating... i don't even know why because you need to hold the keys for 6seconds for it to happen.

also you mind changing from fullscreen-desktop ro fullscreen-exclusive? i kinda dislike the stretched look (or aleast be able to choose what you want)

plus did anyone else notice... there is no escape or quit?
good game, and once i can play without stickykeys being activated and deactiveated i might spend like 6-7hr playing it

got me humming the tune again hehee

Ok, back from two weeks in spain I can now revise this.

Shift and control were used as the rotation keys because I needed two easy functions close to each other. I used two keys, because you can rotate in two directions. If you only had one rotation key, which direction would you want it to rotate in? I'm going to use clockwise.

Oops, I was writing the game with someone in mind, who said the return key didn't work in winxp, so I put in support for the spacebar. And forgot to add return key support.

Raven, stickykeys is activated if you press shift or control rapidly 5 times, so there you have it.

Exit is on the main menu, but you can't exit from the game screen. It doesn't take too long to pile up all the pieces to the top to end the game though. I'll add the escape button.

Ah I should have posted sooner, but anyhow...

This is a teriffic 3d interpretation of Tetris! I had a lot of fun playing it whilst grooving to the memorable Tetris theme song.

Few things... while UP is a good rotate key, maybe make Shift also rotate it the other way. A quick-drop key would be nice too: instantly drop a piece, maybe CTRL.

And... ever check out that Queue prog I was talking about? That would be so sweet in 3d!

Its a lot better - the only real problem are the blocks - they look too bland and tend to look too much like the background (colour-wise).
