Don't suppose this public beta will fix the issues with transparent textures? ie Lines appearing around the textures edges as you move away from them - an inability to decide what should be hidden behind the texture. I know you can do stuff like "Set object transparency objectno,2", use PNGs or whatever, but none of these totally resolve the problem.

It's a bloody disgusting bug which can turn a pretty good looking 3D environment in to a cheap, nasty, disgusting, foul abomination, sending me in to fits of hysteria and delirium as I beg The Almighty Lord to deliver me from this pungency that has devoured my world.

Please fix this bug in my lifetime.

Test it and if it exists still, report it. It won't get fixed in your or my lifetime otherwise.

ok I should have rephrased...

I am aware that Lee is aware this is a problem but I saw no speciffic reference to this issue but noticed some vague hints. As such until I am able to test this out for myself I was wondering if anyone had been in a situation to do so.

nope... the problem still exists, and programs with transparency are even slower now.

my poor laptop was running DesertFox at 60fps under 1.04.1 but under 1.05.0b it runs at 18fps (which ain't not small drop)

@Soyuz

The only guranteed way to test this is to try it yourself.

Look at the "Intersect Object" topic in the bug reports forum (issue now resolved), download the code, and look at the ladder on the mid-level, and you'll see that the transparency works nicely on it.
