Because the 3D Game Studio has no IDE for programing...DBPro is flexable...and all you get with A5 3D Game Studio can be found free on the internet...plus the new IDE im doing makes it so cool of a language noone will be able to deny it even with its API access and visual creation studios and C++-like structuring...muhahaha DBPro is my new GOD...

And well...its cool name...just Dark...man so cool...

And its simple but can be really complex...

And shiny...ooooooh shiny

So in conclusion i tried the rest and DBPro was the best...get DBPro or suffer the rage of 1000 monkey ninjas...programmed in DBPro...A5 sux...its just DX or open GL for C++...and DBPro is the best...

And the fact that DBPro is a Language and A5 isnt, 3d Game Studio A5 is actually just a crappy engine for C++...really...it is...DBPRO IS YOUR NEW GOD

hmmmmm I did a little mistake.
If I will buy DB Ill buy the DB (not pro) +
DarkMatter + Enhancement Pack (total 80$).
What can I do with this pack?
and what is the difference between DB and DBPro?

About 3DGS. The graphics in the 3DGS
is better than DB according to my knowledge
and in 3DGS you dont have to do everything
because the basic u can do with an editor.

"Graphics are what you make 'em"-Graphics 101

Buy Pro cause that pack is out dated and Pro will gove you a much needed command and speed update no matter how small it will help...

and, dude, no more acting like you know about graphics/programming...as far as we can tell you know nothing about programming and well if thats so then A5 3DGS is way outa your league and its crap anyways so...GET DBPRO DAMNIT...TRUST ME 3DGS IS NOT A LANGUAGE ITS AN ENGINE...YOU CAN BUY BOOK AND IT WILL TELL YOU HOW TO MAKE A BETTER ENGINE...BUT GET DBPRO BECAUSE READ THIS REAL QUICK

"Link the librarys to the main compiler and add <> around it so the compiler will know to look for the library in all the normal places...And make sure that you dont forget to set your SDK to daebug so you can correct your code"

Lost?

Thats because you wont like 3DGS, its hard, and well even though this posts name clames it is...its not a language...its an engine which means you have to spend another 200$ on Visual C++ 6 and 3DGS is already 120$...and DBPro works so much better and it is a programming language...and well GET DBPRO...and It doesnt come with an editor i bought it...a Modeler and BSP maker but no editor..and no Compiler...You are not making sense have you yet used 3DGS...and that actor stuff is the same as the Orange Scripts AI scripter...man cmon!

get DBPro mate, The game maker doesn't allow you to make anything except what is already loaded. DB gives you complete control of what happens in your game, you can make basically anything in it.
About the graphics bit, the game maker has already made models, so you have no control of what characters or scenes are in your game. In DB you could get one of the free 3D Modellers to make your own models.
Here's some good free ones:
Milkshape (http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/)
Anim8or (http://www.anim8or.com/)

In my final conclusion, DBPro = Excellent, DB = Good, 3DGS = Crap

I know 3DGS is not a language
it is a sodtware that use A6 engine
and u can use c-script for programing
I got interesting in the 3DGS abput 2 month ago
but in the last day I found out aboud the DB
I can only spend something like 90 dolars
for a program so i cant really buy DBPRO.
Now about the graphics part I have no idea
how to use/do it (that why Im asking) but
it still very important to me to learn something
that can give me a good graphics.

BTW Im not planing to buy the 3D game maker
because the games is too easy to do and
you have no real control on your game.

I think you may be a little mis-informed Mr Gordo...

3DGS does have a click n point interface, yes, but it also has 2 other interfaces; c script which is cool, but feels funny, and c++. The fact that you can bind the engine into something that feels all warm and fuzzy like C++ is a big selling point.

You could get a free C++ development environment/compiler and it'd work just as well.

However, I found that 3DGS became quite expensive when you needed some decent features. Also, I like the community here...

does it have a compiler cause i bought it and i didnt like it cause it was missing so many parts...and well...isnt A6 120$ there Renegade...thats what i paid for it...a long time ago...its just tough and well...you can bing DBPro into C++ to...and it will soon have an IDE that will make A6 look like crap...more crap...

Well, if you want games, get DBPRO( I strongly urge you to get Pro though, it's much better), if you want to program software, just learn C++.But that's up to you.

Now you have to learn the graphics part. follow the on-lne tutorials on their sites, and you'll gradually learn it.

Hope I helped.

They are to much sucky and have no Godly so they dont have one...lol...look the new verson of IDE i heard about is supposed to be good...now that DBPro is soon to have OPENGL support we are complete and with, RobK i believe, pumping out high quality DLL and API access then we have nothing lacking that they gain one especially since i am gonna put an alternative IDE out within a month that will make it a more visual and simple(and yet still complex) version of the language...so...none of these things are part of 3DGS...

And well...My IDE is reason enough to use DBPro lol...so get DBPro its a language designed for gaming and well my IDE combined with RobKs Plugin for WINAPI access will make it just as good as VB so...DBPro my friend...and i dont think 3DGS has a forum...and they are german or sumthin so theyre translation sux of the help docs...

Yes Godly-atude and Suck-atude are now parts of comparing anything to DBPro...cause think about you play a game and go That was Godly(maybe not godly but good or great) or you say this sucks(or is crap ETC) so no godly in 3DGS and it sucks DBPro...what do you expect from the guy who tried DBPro last trust me...you wont like anything else...noone say blitz or i will kill you...cause i tried it and its outdated compared to DBPro especially with my new IDE lol...

The 3DGS site is: http://www.conitec.net/a4info.htm

If I will buy 3DGS I will buy the Extra edition it is only cost
89$ and not 120$.
One of my problem is that I need to create my own texture and models
3DGS comes with suck an editors and DBPro not thats why I want to buy
DM and I want to buy EP for the multiplayer part.

BTW I opened in the 3DGS forum a topic about compering their engine
to other engin games but after a severel post it started to be 3DGS VS DB (link: http://www.conitecserver.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=003594.

I have one question that I will need an answer
in showcase i can see some picture and most of the games
there got a really bad graphics my question is why?

Cause people dont take as much time when creating the graphics as they should...honestly man you wont like 3DGS and the graphics are what you make of them...you dont sound to good at the programming end either and linking a 3d engine through an IDE to a compiler thats not based on a 3d game dev environment is gonna be hard...and that modeler that comes with 3DGS...anim8or is better...its just crappy man...i tried all of the programs even bought some...but i dont like any of them except the last one i tried...DBC then DBPro

I am not good because I have never tried to invest most of my time
in one language today I know HTML well and the basic of ASP, PHP and a little bit of JavaSctipt, my last language was C++ but it is too hard to start with C++ so i wanted to start from another language and than move to C++.

I got one more question:
What is Blitz3d? and is there a reason
that people say that it is better than DBPro?

1. Blitz3D is an alternate language, a very similar product to DBP. I don't want to go into *yet another* debate here, so check it out for yourself : http://ww.blitzbasic.com

To summarise most of the arguments, Blitz3D has been around longer than DBP, so is more stable. On the down side it doesn't support bump mapping, cartoon shading, shaders, hardware shadows or reflections. Whether or not DBP or Blitz is easier to use depends on you personally, try both out and see which suits you best.

2. It allows you to play multiplayer games over the internet or over LAN networks. It is good enough that it was used in StarWraith (www.starwraith.com). Just to clarify matters, DBPro has all of the Enhancement Pack features already built in.

Well, I didn't know that. You're probably much better off going for DBPro then. 3DGS is heavily geared around C (close enough to be recognisable, but far enough away to be frustrating) and the results didn't seem as "instant" to me. It took me a good couple of nights to make someone run around in a room. It took me the same amount of time to remake an old amiga game with DBPro.

Also, 3DGs seem to like their proprietry file formats - directX? no... use our shitty quake-mdl clone instead! As for that model editor, jesus...

DBPro has all the DarkMATTER commands in (multiplayer and so on), but it doesn't come with the 3D models from DarkMATTER.

I think you'll find DB and DBP's commands are easier to understand than Blitz's approach. DB is a little more like English.

DB Classic has the advantage of already being quite stable, but DB Pro is getting more bug-free all the time and it keeps gaining really useful, powerful abilities. DBC is frozen where it is. Sooner or later, you'll want to do something that only DBP can do, so you might want to save your money until you can afford DBP rather than getting DBC now and wanting DBP a few months down the line.

PCGamerUK issue 83? June 2000 when they first mentioned that DarkBASIC was being developed. was on page 15 if i remember right.

and yes i still have a working A500+ (although in bits still is working, just doesn't look neat) and a A5000, which is the lastest one we've been fobbed off with whilst waiting for the "Alpha" been waiting since '97 so would love to know when exactly in the next decade we'll be seeing it.

i never was good at AMOS, just remembered i liked to use it.

Thank you Raven for the reply. I've never seen that magazine but it must be good.

If you ever want to play the best stock market game ever developed for the home computer download MONEYSTOCK (only on the Amiga for now).
