hi everybody! im a harry carrey!!!(just kidding)anyways, i've been having a huge debate lately on wether one of my games should take place in day or night. of course night would MOST likely be an easier option due to the fact that there's less light in the level that works the engine too hard. i know. i know. we all know this. but im looking for a way to have it take place in daytime and still retain a realistic edge. and what will be a real pain is certain levels im my game will be bolth indoor AND outdoor scenarios. so dark on the inside, light on the outside. and suggestions on how to simplify this process without dropping the framerate to nada?!?!

You could try using trigger zones to change the ambient light level of the level as you walk around. So, in dark corridors, you could manage pitch black, and outside you could still simulate light bouncing and 'lighting up' shadows.

Hope that makes sense,
