3DS support isn't very good in DBPro I'm afraid. Stick with .X format for now.

No. I'll ask Mike if he has had a chance to work on the 3DS converter though.

whenever i rotate or move a loaded object, i get it to "smear" all over the background (leave an after-image)...how do i fix this?

Put

sync on: sync rate 0

at the top of your code.

Put

sync just before the loop commands.

sync on: sync rate 0
do
... main code ...
sync
loop

More likely you have used BACKDROP OFF command. Get rid of it. You only use that command if you have an alternative background like a skybox or skysphere.

i used to have backdrop on, and that worked fine, but then everytime i wanted to output text, the backdrop would display overtop of it!

how do i fix that?

The only way the backdrop can overwrite text is if you have the command DRAW TO BACK. If you have that, get rid of it!

i don't have that on...i even tried initializing the draw to front command, but after a print "hello" to the screen, and start my object spinning, the text disapears

Try:

If you want text and 3d mixed together you HAVE to redisplay the text every frame. You cant do the text stuff outside your main loop.

Alternatively, set camera view to an area to be solely used for 3d and then you can stick text and graphics elsewhere, but outside your loop
