Yes, I'm beginning production on an FPSC game. (being developed alongside S.M.I.L.E. inustries, I assure you.) I'm making models for it in the free version of Google sketchup and I could really use a hand off someone with the full edition that lets you export and save models in popular formats like 3DS (which I can then convert to .x) I don't have the models right now ("then don't make the thread yet", I can hear the mods saying lol), but if someone would be able to leave their e-mail or something so I can get in contact with you later, I'd be grateful. This game really can't work without these models, so I'm counting on someone to step in and help their beloved Pus.

Also mods, this is not a model request, so plz don't lock it- atleast not yet. I'm only wasting space with this thread so I don't have to e-mail every single person on TGC.

EDIT:Also, does anyone know the dimensions for a room segment? Is the floor of equal size and proportion of the wall, or is one of them elongated. This has been bugging me for a while actually.

And you say the program works for you? Well in that case, sure! Unless anyone wih the proper thing offers their help, I'll e-mail you in the next week or so about the models. Thanks!

If the free x-exporter doesn't do it for you, try the (also free)3drad exporter(has a terrible lot of options but imho exports simple .x files too).
http://www.3drad.com/files/3DRadExporter.zip

Maybe that suits your needs...

p.s. what exactly failed with the x-exporter plugin?

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise.

I think it was creating blank, unreadable files with the attachment "x" slapped on at the end to no effect. This may have been a different program, though.

I used:
http://edecadoudal.googlepages.com/xExporter.rb
and tested several export modes via Plugins/Direct x/Export Model-
untextured ungrouped, untextured grouped and a first grouped then textured set of faces (simple cube)
All worked well in entity workshop with the lack that the untextured .x files had screwed uv coordinates. but that can be solved in SU with a dummy texture.
When you export from SU, be sure to have the ruby console window open (window/ruby console) as the plugin outputs all export logs there and maybe gives hints on the error you get...
sometimes redownloading/reinstalling the plugin does the trick.

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise.

on your hardrive in the sketchup installation folder?
like:
C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 6\Plugins
or in the program itself? [see screenshot]

or do you have trouble finding the xporter plugin.rb on the internet?
It is a ruby file that you must save to the plugins folder manually....

Ah, that screenshot explains it. I don't have Sketchup Pro which doesn't have as much features, inculding the plugin option. I guess this means I won't be able to run plugins. If that's the case, would you be able to export the models for me?

Did you lookup your installation folder if you find your plugin folder in a place like I described?

Thanks, that's much less hassle! Just FYI, I know exactly where the folder for the pulgins is. I just can't get the plugins option up in the Sketchup program. But yeah, I'll send send them to you when I've got them all done.
