Hello,

I've googled around a bit and made sure I'm include the correct .h and .lib files.

I'm trying to compile, 'Dark GDK - 3D Game 1'. If I browse to:
Project -> Dark GDK 3D Game Properties -> Additional Include Directories ->
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Game Creators\Dark GDK\Lib\vs9
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Game Creators\Dark GDK\Include
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (August 2007)\Lib\x64
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (August 2007)\Include

Each is included separately.

When I attempt to build, I get the following error:

1>LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'd3dx9.lib'

But, I can view the file here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (August 2007)\Lib\x64\d3dx9.lib

Any ideas?

- sk

Hello!

You could check out:

Tools->Options->Project and Solutions and there in "show directories for" chooses Library files. Add the path to your dxsdk there!
There's a difference between a header file and a library file.

Good luck!

Oh, I forgot to add that you should go inteo VC++ Directories after the "Project and Solutions" step and then do the rest.
But maybe I just should have said " just add the path to your direct x sdk in the general settings....

Install it to C:\Program Files\ instead of C:\Program Files (x86)\.

Which is exactly why I spent the whole day trying to figure out why Oblivion wouldn't run on my Vista x64.
