Hey guys, this is my first tutorial and I hope you like it the .pdf file is attatched. It tells you how to create bullet holes in an entity.

Cant you just SHOOT the entity?

@aaagreen: no When you put the paintbrush in trueblack and paint onto a textures and put it ingame. It creates an effect as if it were shot through.

Pretty okay, I guess...

Also remember this(I know you did'nt add it, and I guess you don't need to, XD.), Bullet holes that are shot at "Point blank range"(3ft.) will create a black powder covering the hole, like so in this image.

However, bullets shot at a medium range will not create the black powder substance that will cover the hole... It would be clear of the powder.


The black substance will only cover the bullet hole if the target is within about a meter (3 ft) of the muzzle at moment of discharge but not close enough to be an actual contact shot.

To make a Blank-Point range shot just duplicate the layer and gausian blur it by 2.0.
Pretty simple...(LOL, sorry for making the lesson, its just one of those things a texture artist should atleast get to know. ^^)
