Decided to something other than WW2

Still a work in progress but all the basic geometry is done, probably a few n-gons around but I will sort them out as I find them.

Hope you like it

As always great (I'm sorry that I really don't criticize or anything but to be honest, I don't know anything about planes and such).
Oh and sorry for the delay with the character, I've just been really busy, got a new laptop so I need to get that up and running and stuff. I promise to start working on it as soon as I can, by new years at the latest.

Got the basic texture done and some of the markings, alomost finished the bump mapping. I think I may offer a few textures to this one, prehaps German, Spanish and Saudi.

Currently weighing in around 4200 polys, Though I am sure there a still a few n-gons left yet to be sorted.

Ok sorted out the texture issues and finished the bump mapping and tidied up the markings. I am about to start the German markings.

That is one nice model.

One thing I may point out:
WWII planes in games always look to clean.

If you grunged it up to look like it had actually been in war, it would do it a lot of justice.
Take a look at this jeep.

It's sprayed with bulletholes, covered in dirt and this makes it more realistic.

Try adjusting your textures to fit the WWII scene.

As a programmer i'd rather have the option of adding dirty dynamically in my engine than having it built into the model. I don't want bullet holes until something has shot at my target, and then I want those holes to match where they should be on the model. It might make little odds in a flight sim, but if the plane is grounded and i'm making an FSP...

It is not hard to create a second texture layer in code to add dirt and other effects in realtime.

oh and nice model Frap, another great piece - but I told you that already. Seeing as i'm here, it seemed rude not to say so here too. So you get two compliments for the price of one this time.

Thanks for the comments guys, its always nice to have the ego stroked every now and then and it does keep me inspired to keep producing more.

As for dirt and battle scars I do add them on most of my models, however bullet holes I think would be a little too much and as stated by banshee they can always be added in game.

I do plan to go back and update some of my older models soon and add that sort of wear and tear along with some other improvements. This model however I wanted to keep clean.
