Is there anyway to change what weapons characters start (spawn) with in multiplayer? I want to change it to something from MP6 or MP10.

nope.(without having to get really complex like editing the character.

just put the weapon under the player.

Going the extra mile...

Actually, there is a way.

Make a backup of your character first. Take the character you're using for the multiplayer game, go into it's .fpe file, and you can change their starting weapon.

...though the previously mentioned method would probably work just fine.

It's pretty simple, you open a file, edit a line, hey presto, problem solved...

Pretty much; I've done this with lots of characters that I've downloaded. It pays to know your way around the files, because you can actually permenantly change stuff. It saves so much time sometimes.

Some people say that I'm crazy... And I agree.

hey everyone, I just tried this on my multilpayer game Im working on, but for some reason when someone spawns, they spawn with 300 rds loaded in the weapon (in particular its the SAS guy in MP1 and the MP5N from MP9)

just edited the line hasweapon to the pathname of the weapon (model pack 9\mp5n)

any clues?

You have to change the gunspec of the weapon as well (same method as mentioned before). Go into gamecore/guns/whatever and find the weapon that the character spawns with. Go into the gunspec of that gun and change the reload quantity, etc.

Hope that helps.

That's not what we mean, when you first spawn in a multiplayer game you have 200 rounds with no reserve ammo, so you can continue to fire without reloading... Hope that clears it up a little, if not I'll try again with screenshot

Basically it reads like this:

Ammo
200/0

Oohh, okay. I suppose you could try setting the ammo clip in the gunspec to 30 or so, and placing a few ammo clips underneith the player.

The pistol I'm using (G22) has a clip of 15, I'm not sure what to do about this situation, frankly, for multiplayer it's not that big of a deal. But it sure would be cool if it could be fixed...

I don't think it's a bug, just wrong numbers or such....
