Both look ok, as they have an overall correct shape, but the polycount should be lowered as much as possible.

You have too many divisions on those cylinders, making them way high poly. Lower the divisions to say, 8?
Also the models are very simple but since your new simple stuff is the way to go probably. (Depends on the person though, I've always preferred to start with advanced stuff.)
