Hey. I got bored yesterday (again) so I made an M249 SAW model. It's not gonna be textured, animated or anything - what you see is as far as it will go. Unless you wanna buy it or something

It's got a bloody massive poly count, 9186 faces.

I'll post some more, but here's what I've got hosted so far.

C&C is appreciated.

Very impressive, though I would have another look at the stock and the grip, they let it down a bit.

Other than that it looks good from what I can see.

I give ip with thos baner fing as it never seems to work for me. I woll now stop wasting mu time.

Yes, I agree. I tried to make the whole gun extremely high poly, but the stock is not and it really ruins it.

I would decrease the poly usage on the rounds on the belt as they are simply over the top, you rarely see the rounds completely. and even so you added all the polys on the front of the rounds where barely anyone will see it. Obviously, this only apply's if it was created for a game, rather than just modeling for fun.

If you wanted this for a game, as mentioned previously, I'd comment a lot on the poly count, but since this is just for fun I'll shut up (Yay? ). Looks great man!

Looks pretty nice, the smoothing issues on the bullets really detract from it though. If you're not going to texture it, try turning off smoothing on the flat bottom of the bullets.

Oh, believe me, I'm always bored. I just don't want to fill up the forums with all my model threads.

@Alucard and VP - Yeah, if I was planning on selling this or using it for a game, I would have made it much more low poly.

@Venge - I noticed that, I'll try turning them off and see how it looks.

Thanks for the comments, keep 'em coming!

The real 200-round ammo case is about half as thick as the one you have (just to let you know). Good bit of modeling though.
