Hi,

I'm trying to traverse withiin an xfile sky object (which I believe is just a textured sphere).

But, when I pitch the camera up or down, there seems to be a big hole in the object.

Is my camera not clipping it properly?

Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

Thanks,
john...

increases your camera range using
set camera range
because the top of the object is out of view it just draws the 3d backdrop instead

I have a website!!!
So go there: http://www.freewebs.com/darkb/index.htm
on second thought you probably shouldn't

i've experiencing the same problem with the skyspheres of Darkmatter..

why should i increase the camera range?
if i can view the most distant point of the SPHERE in front of me, or rear.. why i can't see the TOP or BOTTOM of the sphere? didn't have the same distance of the FRONT/REAR ??

p.s. the skysphere is centered at camera position

have you tried increasing the camera view range?? might be that the textures are too dark in certain areas.

Yuri-It would have the same distance if it was a sphere. Skyspheres frequently are not spherical.

Anyway just change the camera range its almost certainly that.

This has nothing to do with camera range, there happens to be hole (in fact 2 holes) in every skysphere in DarkMatter. They are useless in games except if you never look up 90 degrees. Here camera range is 100000 and distance is about 10000:

you could import it into Milkshape, and close the top of the shpere...

If the top is capped, or doesnt match up, then you could create a texture plain above it to make it appear as the sky is still there...
