Hey all, I whipped this up yesterday and I wanted to get your input before uv mapping it. Any suggestions would help.

The only thing I would comment on is that the sights are solid and it doesn't really have anything to look down for aim.

Needs quite a bit of work if it's going to be a player model. There is loads of reference out there. The early Thompsons like that one had a lot of interesting ans subtle milling work which was simplified on the wartime Thompsons. Too many people know what it should look like so you have your work cut out for you. Focus on nailing areas like the rear sight, front sight, rear of the receiver, cocking handle area and trigger area. Most firearms have distinct upper and lower sections. Thompson is no different and the division is actually fairly stepped/exaggerated. When you go to animate, remember that it should fire from an open bolt.

If it's an NPC weapon, you can easily shave geometry on everything but the drum.

There are a few UK websites with deactivated weapons which are a wealth of clearly detailed reference photos for weapons like this. I don't have the link on this PC, unfortunately..

Shameful. Looks like they no longer show the "sold" guns (maybe thinking of another site but doubt it). Sam, I have xclnt ref for that model if you need it. Just email me and I'll get back to you when I'm online tomorrow night.

Ugh, that site doesn't have the M1928 version. So the front sight has a hole in it, or is it just thinner?
EDIT: Thanks Errant!

It looks pretty good, but I think that the handle could use some work, and the trigger guard looks all squashed up, as if it was to small to put my finger into.
