This looks nice. I forgot what setting it is, but I think you have like the shader quality down...or whatever it is that causes overlays to leave big square shadows.

Looks good, but here's some advice for that light shaft. Instead, make it a decal with no animation. Decals always rotate to face the screen, so you only have to place one and they don't overlap with each other (The overlapping part is visible with the current shaft and at the top you can tell it's actually 6 surfaces)

A picture says a thousand words.

I'm not seeing any custom gun...

Anyway, it looks almost BOtB worthy.

I'll see what it looks like.

The custom gun was taken out but will be back once I make a few more. Anyway, thanks for the comment, I still need to improve a lot to make it that good.

Thanks so much, I think that would be just in time for the demo.

It might be good to note that there is already a game called Fall of Nations, just for your information.

Hey darimc, i'll post the ZIP here.

BTW, all the images are in PNG format, and only the menu-guide.jpg isn't. The guide tells you where to place the selection items.

Good luck on the game!

I just searched and I can't find anything, please provide a link.

@TeamASP, that is sweet! Thank you so much. I might edit it a little bit but I am so glad, that style fits. I hope I will be able to repay you soon.

Wow... Not even one comment? I guess people don't really care. There's not really any motivation from the community to make me continue.

I wanted to play it, but a bug came up.

Can't find object at line 65489 or something like that. Maybe reupload it?

Really, I just tried the one from the download and nothing seems to be wrong? What are your system specs?

I'm downloading now. I didn't see that you posted it up (been busy with GG and working on TC and stuff).
I'll play it and tell you what I think.

I played it. Here's my critisism so far:

Pros:

- Level design was great.

- Title screen was professional looking.

Cons:

- Experienced some pretty significant slowdowns in a few spots.

- The lighting decal in the second room (coming from the ceiling) looked a little out of place.

My only other pointers were to maybe use a better AI script (Airslide's works nicely), and a performance mod. Other than that, it's off to a great start.

I played this too. Overall I liked it, I didn't get much lag. The AI bugged out occasionally, but that's to be expected from FPSC.
I didn't like the light/dust decals, they were ugly and distracting IMO, and some of the level design could use some work, as it's pretty illogical (worst offender being the office you climb in through the window to get the key; it has no other exits... I mean, that's gotta be an awful place to work in, since the worker will have to use the ladder to get in, LOL)

Overall, it was a nice snack, wouldn't have minded a few more levels of it actually

I played it, got a little lag, nothing too unplayable.

As for crits/comments, I just think you should edit your textures to make them blend better, to make them look more real.

Overall, it's nice.

The game was good, no lags (thanks to a faster system)...

But some people had lag problems so you had to fix the lag... Just ask them

About the enemy, was the headshot script implemented? And the office where you get the key - make it 2 or 4 tiles bigger and add a door. I also agree with alimpo8, make the textures better. Make them the same quality with the fuse box.

Those were just technicals. But the overall was good. Hope you got your motivation!

Hey dude, downloading now! looks awesome

Keep it up!!!

EDIT:

*******REVIEW*******

Overall i think the demo was pretty well thought out. Had some great enemy placement and was structured quite well. Here is a list of pros and cons.

Pros:
- Enemy placement: This kept me on my toes. There were places were i jumped slightly as i was expecting anyone there. (only slightly lol)

- Level design: To be honest i could split this into more sections but since i thought it was well designed, im not going to. I will just say that the level was well planned and had some nice touches. (the window in the second room?)

- Enough ammo and weapons to keep me pleased. I hate games were ammo is sparce and you can't just let rip on an enemy!

Cons:
- FPSC bugs: Nothing you can do about these really. annoying ones like not being able to shoot through a window when it is shot out was the most annoying for me but meh. It could have been worse!

- Enemy health: Thought the guy in the upper room could have used some more health, was an anti climax for me when i got up there shot him twice and killed him.

_ Story: I know it was a one level demo but i like demos to show some of the story. Even if it is only a glimpse, i still like to be intriqued into getting the full game.

Overall: **** (8/10)

Great stuff!

Thanks guys for the reviews, this will really help. I will fix the light decals, fix some of the enemy AI and fix the office room so it is a little bigger and has a door. I will also make the mercenary in the office a little harder to kill. I will fix the lag issues but it will be hard to spot which places people are lagging at because my computer didn't get any lag. The next demo released will probably have 3 levels, but won't be for a while.

I made a new design for the website, too bad I don't know how to convert to a template and set it up. If anyone is willing to do this for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I will email them the full size image and the .PDN file if they want.

I tried, it i thought it pretty good except for a couple of things.
1)during the game their would be spots that would drop the fps (but then it would come back)
2) at the part where you go up the staircase and there is a window well i could see the guy that spawned via trigger zone that spawned below the fire escape.

Other then that it was pretty good.

I'm working on the second level, you will have to travel through the sewers to get to the next building. I will be implementing some new features, one of which will be receiving messages that will help you on your missions.

Looks pretty nice, though the light in the second picture looks kind of square-like (I think it's due to the segment, though).

Looks nice but try putting a light under the water decal to see if it "illuminates" it. (Might look good you never know.)

The one on the far wall, it looks like the light is squared off, or the segment texture isn't seamless or something...

...maybe it's just me.

Thanks. There will be more levels, I plan to make this a full game, but I am not 100% sure whether I should release at once or in chapters. What do you think?

Well that all depends on how long you plan on it to be. If it's going to be long then i would say chapters.
