Id like to use DGDK for my thesis.Im still dependent on my scholarship and was hoping that i wouldn't need a commercial license for DGDK nor Visual Studio.

Im not making any money out of it. Its mostly for educational purposes. Ill install it at home, and not in the university.

I hope i can use DGDK and Visual Express freely.

You can use DarkGDK and Visual Studio express both free for non commercial use. As long as you do not plan to sell your finished product, you can continue enjoying both products!

Good luck with your thesis!

though watch that whole "university intellectual property stuff" - they turn it commercial in very sly ways... basically you usually don't own your thesis - the college does kinda... just try to patent something you did a thesis on and see how they get mean really fast.

@jezza - on that point - visual studio etc. I think I've read in other forums and stuff - like gamedev and code project that using express is fine for commercial stuff.

Note, I'm no authority on that one - but I was curious and many seemed to be leaning that way with their understanding of the vs2008 eula...

You don't even have to read the EULA!

Yes, there are no licensing restrictions for applications built using Visual Studio Express Editions. "
