Hi all,

After downloading the latest Cosmic Prophet pack and always wanted to make a scifi game, I've decided to start development on a small FPS that tells the story of (put name here) that lives in a space station on Mars. But Mars has much life, that he will find out soon enough...and an ancient prophecy may have the answers he seeks...

This game is for me to test my level design and illumination skills, so except a fun game, not a very developed one on terms of story.

THIS GAME IS HOMMAGE TO COSMIC PROPHET.
Yes, this guy gives us so many good models that I've decided to make my scifi game with a title that, well, speaks for itself.

I'm using FPSC X9, version 1.09,S4real MOD and ENB Series Dll Mod.
Probably use my old shaders too, for some of the effects I want.

Tell me what you think, these are screens from the first level. Still have to add more entities and so, but I'm happy with the lightning.

Thanks,
Alimpo83

EDIT:

Level 1: Done

Thanks, Mazz426.

Two more screens, of my Mars outdoor parts.
I need a new Mars sky, but these are still WIPs of course.

...very cool tribute, indeed.

Thusfar, everything looks really nice. I personally like the effects a great deal.

I can't wait for an opportunity to take this for a spin, once it's released...

Wow, very nice level design! Only complaint I have about the lighting is that it seems to light up the weapon a fair bit, but otherwise it looks very good. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Krowsnest the lighting of the weapon isn't always like that, it's affected of course by the lights in the level. I can change the strength of the bloom effect, but for now I'm happy with it, it depends on the next levels and so.

Mazz426 yes the terrains are retextures of the great DTL Landscape Construction Kit, with original textures I made.

Darimc my screen is 1680x1050 so I won't put a full screen image here, but you can click the screens and go to my www.screenshots.cc page and see them there! I'll try to find a solution to that soon, to show better screens.

Thanks D13, it's been a while!
Thanks to the rest, of course

The first level is almost done. It's small, but it's just an introductory level. And besides, this game is as I stated before, to test my level and lighting design skills!

The second level is going to be outdoor, or at least giving that impression. Basically expect an outdoor Mars environment.Extreme heat!

Thanks Robert F.

More screenies, the indoor part of Level 2. Depending on how much stuff I'll put here in level 2, maybe I'll have to make the outdoor part the Level 3, so that we don't get much lag.

Will post the final game, since it's going to be small (4 or 5 levels), when it's done.

As stated before, I will post the final game when it's done.Don't expect a great game, expect something I'm doing for personal training.

After this is released I'm going to work on a full sci-fi game, this time with custom sound and more media, more effects and an overall better experience!

Thanks for the comments, once again.

PS: 74 FPS while using a new mod that will be released, i'm a beta tester. Don't ask anything about it here, it's OFFTOPIC.
Thanks!

I think what makes this great looking is two things.

1. Simplicity
2. Color

Great job!

Thanks everyone.

I'm currently working on level 3, which takes place mainly indoors, with an outdoor part.

While using the default 1.09 version, I' getting 38 fps, but since I'll try to use a new mod, will get around 65-75 fps.

The fourth level will take place outdoors, If I can acomplish it with a good framerate. Of course you won't get free roaming around the scenery, but will get a good outdoor effect.

The fifth level will be indoors, and can't tell anything more.

A new outdoors screen, level 3.

I'm not happy with the lighting, it still needs to be fixed.
It's just for you guys to take a look at the kind of outdoors I'm working on. It's WIP, not final version!

I don't like how you've used that roof girder on the left, it looks highly unstable, and therefore silly...

The lighting would look better if it were coning from where that huge sun is, rather than from the left...

Screenies looking great, you've kept the formula nice and simple. It should work. This will make a great tribute, and for everything cosmic prophet has done, it's a well deserved one.

Good luck with this!
