Does anyone know of a good Cinematics program, like easy to use and makes fpsc-like graphics, like the movies but without as much b-s... What do you guys recommend, Dont recommend blender I use it but Im not spending 2 years to learn how to make a movie that looks terrible.

The pros use Maya, Lightwave, Blender, or 3DS Max.

Maya and 3ds max are quite expensive, blender is free although very complex and difficult. I use Animation Master, it is pretty good and, although still fairly expensive ($89 for a years subscription, $299 to purchase it fully) it is simple, powerful and a lot cheaper than maya or 3ds max.

I use blender but It would take me like... weeks to make a cinematic for fpsc. Is maya easily used? Like can you easily add realistic clothes, and color and make them look like fpsc characters? Or is it something like endorphin where all you can do is watch a ragdoll fall down.

iClone3

it is free i think ight? You can export the dbo file ,your FPSC makes, to fragmotion, and then export it to what you want so you can set the rest up in iClone3 and make with your map a whole movie,,, that is what i do

Cinematics? Try Machinima. The art of making a cutscene within a game engine. Rooster Teeth done this with Red vs Blue, the popular online series based around life in Blood Gulch (Its Halo if you still dont follow)
You could use Conjured WIP Puppet Script as an example.
Making a cutscene in 5 stages:
1. Remove all huds by editing setuplevel fpi script
2. Set the scene (Add characters, objects, position your camera /you/)
3. Setup each character with Conjured's puppet script, assign keys to each character.
4. Record the following result with any screen recording software! (I use Fraps)
5. Film it by moving the mouse to control the camera(you*),use the puppet scripts to move your characters (works best with a friend) and then add voice overs. Cut, print, and its done!

* You is the person you are controlling. To make yourself look like a camera, you can remove all the huds so that when the level loads up, you have a blank canvas.

Good idea, YFPSD thats what I'll do. But, while were on the topic of cinematics I have another question, Do you know of any really good Text to speech engines because I suck at voicing characters and theres no one else available, any ideas?

Text to speech isnt going to work for a real voice...a robotic voice maybe, but none, at least that ive tried, are up to par with a believable voice.

Yeah, I agree with bullshock (if i dont he'll kill me lol) but you will need to record voices, you could have a friend round to try it out. Or if you want, use Audacity to change the tone of your voice (its free)

Yeah, I can spot the stutters on the voice when I put her up to the test of pronouncing "Deoxyribonucleic Acid." It worked, but still stuttered...

Quote: "I have a thread on the topic basing my idea and Conjured Entertainment grabbed my idea and made a cool puppet script out of it!"

Where is this so called thread of yours?

I want to see where I posted in it.

I do not know you or your thread dude, so before you say I "grabbed" your idea, you had better have something to back it up.

Accusing me of something I did not do is more than offensive friend, its slander.
Especially the way you suggest that my script is based on your input. (it is not, it has nothing to do with you)
If I did base my work off your work then I would say so, just like I said my jetpack was based off Meranvos.
The jetpack is still 90% my original work, and the only part that is the same as his is the basics neccessary to make it work.
In other words, any working jetpack script will have to have the same actions and condidtions because that is the only way to do it.

And here is a news flash for you dude.
I was planning on making this puppet script for machinima before you ever joined these forums.

Also, nobody can lay claims on an idea, because there is no way to prove that you thought of it first.
Just because you are the first to voice it or write it that you know of, deosn't mean someone elese didn't have the same thought prior.

So, where is it?
Where is your thread?
Or your script?

TGC knows which tthreads I have accessed, and their logs can get to the bootom of this.

You either furnish proof of my doing any wrong or retract that statement.

You came in my thread talking this crap too, so put up or shut up.

Where is this thread????

Here is another news flash for you twit:
I have a healthy imagination, so I do not need to "grab" anyone elses ideas.
However, if I see eomething I like I will do it.
I guess next you will tell us that Michinima was your idea too?

I didn't mean it like that. You posted on my Machinima Concept thread and I was really happy that there is someone else on the forums who has mentioned it before and has made developments into it. I can't even thank you enough for the puppet script. I'm really sorry if you thought I was being slanderous.

This was the thread you posted on:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=139492&

You posted the puppet script, and I was highly impressed by it. I didn't intend on "claiming" the idea since it has been done before. Not in FPSC (as far as I know of) but in games like Halo and Garrys Mod, which use HUDS and Camera Tools to make a scene.
For all I know, you were probably the first person on the entire forum who came up with the idea, and I never knew.

"I am making" means I was already working on it when I found your thread.

I didn't say, "good idead, I think I'll make a script for this too."
Which is what I would have said if I were running with your idea, and anybody who knows anything about me knows that.

Sorry, if I sound short here, but the way you said it made it look as if I stole your work.

I want you to say the truth, and stop telling people I grabbed your idea like I stole it or something.

I DID NOT GRAB YOUR IDEA!!!!

Here is a thread from me about machinima that will porbably outdate any of yours.

So, for your info I was one of the first people who wanted to use FPSC for machinima.

I did not get any ideas from you period!

I am sick of people saying that crap every time I offer something here for free.

So, you know what .... forget it.
I'm gonna now do the same thing I did before when people ragged on my free stuff..

NO MORE FREEBIES FOR AWHILE

I should have charcged for the body armour, and I might take it down now.

You came up with the body armor concept?

Quote: "You came up with the body armor concept?"

No but I made it work, and I wasn't the first to do that either.
I never claimed to come up with the concept, but my body armour is mine and not like anyone elses, and I did not look at or copy anyone elses work to make mine.

Just like my puppet script is 100% my work and not based on anyone else's script.
But that is what I get for making things simple.

You don't get it..

An idea is worthless unless you take it out of your mind and apply it into the real world with action other than talk.

And that is my whole point.

Some people talk about ideas until other people make them a reality, then they want all the credit even though they did nothing more than talk.

And here is another thing to think about for you idea geniuses out there...

If you don't want people taking your ideas, then don't come here advertising them before you make them work.
They can't grab, take, or steal your idea, unless you leak it out of your mind.

So, let me get this straight...

You say that I grabbed your idea..
What was your idea exactly?

To make Machinima with FPSC? (you are not the first to think this)

Make a script to control a character for making machinima? (you are not the first to think this)

Or was it the idea to find a tutorial on scripting? (you are not the first to think this)

What exactly in that thread makes you think I grabbed anything from it for my puppet script?

Please calm down CE

Your risking post moderation at this point.

We appreciate your contributions and you did a great job on the puppet and body armour scripts. Providing you've credited yourself in the scripts somewhere there shouldnt be any problem.

I doubt Taterx11 wants his thread being used for a personal discussion of this nature.

For what?

Defending myself against someone calling me a thief?

Tell you what.. I can moderate myself.

Its bad enough he said this crap in my thread and now he's saying here too?

When does it end?

I am saying something about it now, before he starts doing it everywhere.

Quote: "I doubt Taterx11 wants his thread being used for a personal discussion of this nature. "

I didn't want my thread messed up by him either, but get one thing straight.

HE CAME HERE AND SAID NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT ME AND I WILL RESPOND TO THAT ANYWHERE ANYTIME!
So, this is his doing , not mine!

Have I ever said anything about him in any other thread, other than respond to his statements?

But I tell you what, you don't need to moderate me, because I am not posting here verymuch anymore.
And I am certainly never posting another script.

I'll ask again since you never answered.

Moderated for answereing his questions, or moderated for asking him one?

Quote: "I didn't mean it like that. "

Well it came across that way because that is the way you said it.

"grabbed your idea"

See, when you say...
Quote: ""I have a thread on the topic basing my idea and Conjured Entertainment grabbed my idea and made a cool puppet script out of it!""

I don't see the cool part, all I see is the grabbed part.

We may have had the same idea because great minds think alike or whatever you believe, but I have never taken anything from you.

Yeah edit that out so I appear like a ranting madman and then threaten me with moderation.

- Persistent negative and / or confrontational tone
- Use of the word crap 3 times
- Use of the word twit in a personalised context

You are using emotive language which is not encouraged on the forums and is unlike you. Usually so clinical and well thought out.

Please return after a relaxing mind meld with some more technically excellent scripts.

For what?

Someone else to say I stole their idea.

I was being nice mentioning it when I found his thread (in JAN) so that he could use it. (I didn't even remember it before because I only posted there once)

It is one thing to steal my stuff (I don't mind that if its only a script), but to say I stole their stuff is somethiing else and I do mind that.

So, if you want me to be calm then don't call me a thief unless I did do it.
Accusing me of something I havn't done sets me off.

Quote: "Persistent negative and / or confrontational tone"

He asked questions so I replied back.
And yes calling me a thief is confrontational. (moreso that my defense)

He can edit waht he said as I was typing my reply, thats fine.
It makes it look like I was being irrational, but I know what he said.

Calling someone a twit is far less than saying that they "sound like a dick", which is the phrase TGC uses when explaining not to represent yourself as a big company here in the forums.
