Hello,

Some of my models aren't working in DarkBasic.

I think it's because I have modified them under the uvw unwrap in the stack.

Is there anything I can do to fix them?

I'm using 3ds Max, and exporting them as .3ds ...

for conversion to 3ds or directx always collapse the stack. ie make object poly before converting.

If that doesnt work what is the actual problem with the model.

I give ip with thos baner fing as it never seems to work for me. I woll now stop wasting mu time.

Thanks Frap,

That didn't work.

The original model works fine. I made changes to the geometry (added verts and moved geometry) of the original model to make model2.

I made sure to preserve uv's when I was changing the model.

I'm not doing the programming, but the model2 apparently crashes the game and it won't open!

Strange, what changes did you make ? Are you using Max's standard 3ds export? Do you have a lot of n-gons ? Have you tried another format such as DirectX?

Any chance of a wireframe as well, that may help find the problem.

When my work doesn't export it's either the stack (which has been mentioned) and I also have it crash when using non standard materials (only with the KW Xport plugin though).
So make sure your materials are "Standard" and not something else you've set up for rendering.

Only adding verticies under a UVWunwrap stack should mess up the UVW coordinates.
Load it back into 3dsmax and see if it loads there, it could have been corrupted upon export. Other than that, if you want to send me the model, i can take a look at it for you.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

The material is standard ...

I did add 3 verts into it, but they are all in the uvw map and it looks fine. Even so, I collapsed the stack and detached the part, added the verts, and reattached it to the main part. Then I put another unwrap mod on it.

The map is perfect and contains the additional verts!

The file loads back into max ok.

I've included the file if a kind soul would like to take a look ... the verts I have added are the ones where the stem bends.
