I don't know if this is allowed, but I figured that this post is concerning icons for a game-related website, so I'm okay.

I was wondering if somebody would be willing to design four icons for me, the dimensions being 127x127, for my website.

I would need one for each of the four main categories on my site: Games, Programs, Media, and Downloads.

The four images would go in those four black squares at the top, with a styling similar to the icons below or possibly the icons from Mac OS X.

I have a couple ideas if you would like them.

I also am not so sure about how to pay you back in return. Free stuff is always nice, but we can always work something out.

Thanks,
- Kyle

(BTW, query is spelled wrong under "Contact Admin")

Haha, I'll fix that then. All those icons right there came from an extension of SMF, as well as the text. The spelling problem isn't my bad. Thanks for the heads up though.

Are you willing to help out though? Or are you just hungry for bacon?

Ha.

Ha . I would if I could, but I really wouldn't know how to go about making icons like that.

This, I don't think amounts to the Mac OSX one, just whipped this up real fast. It's for Downloads.

Xsnip3rX:
Needs the overlay or it will look flat, just needs a reduction in the Colour saturation so to match that of the blues used in the other icons. Then either skew the image 45 degrees and give it a drop shadow or create a reflection (reflect it vertically and mask it so it fades out) so to make it stand out.

I keep meaning to have a crack and do one of these, hehe I saw a really cool tutorial on making 3D objects in illustrator- google it if you have illustrator, perfect for making an arcade stick. However I don't really like doing other peoples work so I would urge you have a crack it at yourself and then ask for help on making it better.

Some Tutorials I have used in the past.

Simple Vista/Mac style buttons also try searching for "Gel style icons". This will give you the basics:

More Complicated than what you need but if you can do this you can have a crack at anything:
