I have been experimenting with weapon damage and character physics weights to try to come up with decent results when sniping. It seems that bumping up the damage of weapons increases their effective range, the problem is that in CQB, they are too powerful... The fix to this is to bump up the health and physics weight of NPCs that are close to the player. This unfortunately has bad results when you get close to the NPCs that have normal health. It's a tradeoff between rediculously short range or enemies who go flying when you shoot them.

Does anyone have their own solutions or theories about this?

Go to the gunspec file of the gun, and there is something that says "range" Make it something like 100000, and you'll be fine.
