Of coarse.

Just know, if you choose Mixcraft, you should check out where mixcraft downloads the sound effects from. There are links in the library. You will see. You can then get others.

Fl studio isn't that hard to use, nor is it expensive. I use it religeously, but then I'm not a musician, so if you're looking for something to use if you're not greatly musically skilled I'd go with that.

An aucustic guitar works very good for making scarey music.

I'm just curious, does anyone know of a program that is a complete suite, because I have no way of hooking a keyboard up to my PC, ect. I want something that can make music within the software, that doesn't require external sources.

My preference for music making is Med Sound Studio. The site looks a little tacky (I'm redoing it for them ) but I'd swear by the program. And this is what it looks like: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oP3NPAuXyjk

Wow, that site has everything bad about it that should never appear in a site. Flashing animations, disgusting background, uggh, I hope the software isn't as crappy as the site is.

This is why I'm redoing it (http://www.madladdesigns.co.uk/medsoundstudio). Trust me, the software is excellent.

That looks pretty nice (the site), is the software a complete editing suite? Meaning everything can be made in the software with just your computer keyboard and mouse?

By the looks of it, MED is a .mod tracker, right?

I think Mixcraft is a great place to start. It's got everything from your basic loops to virtual instruments (like MIDI, but better sounding). I still use it to this day, and it's pretty inexpensive.

Yes, it is a tracker type program and no, it isn't a complete suite (there's no mixing and the only 'special effect' is limited echo) but it can be used with just keyboard and mouse (like I do) AND it can use MIDI and virtual instruments. I've been using it for over 10 year and for something that's quick and easy I wouldn't be without it!

All the tunes I've done have been done in Med Sound Studio, including NightCrawl.

I actually want to re-create the Battlefield theme (appears in nearly every Battlefield game, my favorite game series of all time!), and Mixcraft seems to be able to do it quite nicely.

Hm, well, I'm now actually on the bound of deciding which program to go to. I guess it's no harm to try both.
