Dark GDK / Building a Release with Dark GDK

I just downloaded Dark GDK and set up a basic 2D project in C++. It runs just fine through Visual C++ but I can seem to run the release .exe or debug .exe from windows. Anyone know what the issue might be??? (All I get is an empty black window)

Are you including your assets(sprites etc..) in your release folder?

They can't find the media for the game. When running stuff from the IDE, the default location where media is searched for is where your source code is. If you want to run these outside of the IDE, take all of the media used and copy them into a directory with the exe file. Then it should work. Unless you have a directory defined in the source code.

I noticed some ppl have the pics loaded into thier .exe
i dont know how they do it id like to find out but the game has only the .exe file but has full gfx when ran...
