Some nice sketches there. I really like the use of thick lines. The last image sort of reminds me off Mirrors Edge.

Load them up in Photoshop/Gimp/PaintshopPro and get rid of those ugly lines:

Makes the image far more presentable. I'm not trying to steal your work all I'm trying to do is show the difference. All I did was changed the levels and curves, and then traced over parts using an angled brush. I haven't altered the image in any way.

Hey it's kul! These are all raw scans from random sketch books and notebooks. I do have to say that they look 20x better...looks like a real artist drew those

I think I'll do that with the rest of them.

Ah, and I forgot to mention that any inked drawings from the notebooks are all freehand. I actually seem to do better free handed ink drawings then I do planned out ones with a proper skeletal sketch and composition outline and then working me way up...weird eh?

Sorry for not replying earlier, you where the last person to post previously so I completely overlooked the tread.

Here is what I tend to do.

1-Desaturate the picture

2-Use curves to exaggerate contrast

-Tip 1. If you apply a blur and then use the curves you can round off corners.

--Tip2. Don't be afraid to change anything you not happy with,
if it looks really wrong at the moment its not going to get much
better. Better to clean up the picture now.

3 - Apply levels
For levels I would you something like
* 55 , 1 , 75
Give or take 5-10 depending on the picture for a comic like effect.

4- The most important bit. Simplify. Smooth out sharp curves and remove unwanted lines. You will have to do this with more complicated pictures.

The are other ways of getting a similar if not the same effect.

*You can use the photoshop filters like Cut Out with a desaturated picture.
*You can always "trace" the image in Flash/Illustrator of a free alternative from the net. Paint.Net actually has the feature.

My favourite is the kid juggling magic skulls or something. It's pretty sweet.

He's my interpretation of a 'god' With one hand he can create anything, the other he can destroy. Was a comic concept at one time, but after much consideration decided to scrap it. I could smell the 'religion' flaming inching towards me.

Nice art. So, is Space Revenge 2 going to be like Tempest?

Mr.Tank:
Never heard of it. The basic play in SR2 is you rotate around a 3d cylinder while enemies charge towards you. I'm testing out different control schemes now and will post later for some feedback.

Now I'm going comic crazy!
