Changing character/list of characters. Black line is hiding a character who is deleted. (Lock)

Edit: Just realised I posted it all earlier >.<

I didn't mean air movement down, I meant you should work of getting momentum and air movement too a pretty good state. Down was the the word I used for that. I'm not sure what you mean with nudging buildings, but...

Here'sa vid of the original game:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yC3K8sMwWU

rather than try to explain everything, I'd say watch this vid and others like it (or if you have either of the games play them), and try and simulate the same exact movement yourself. Maybe in a separate project, too. Once you've got something that works like the actual games, then you know you've got something that works well, and can go about changing it to be more like you want for your game, say maybe more like air gear, which is MUCH faster and would require a lot of momentum so you would have a reason to try to build up speed and keep it.

Just a suggestion, take it as you want. Use all of it, parts of it, or none of it. Up to you.

The momentum I've taught is where (for example) you have:
Car 1: mass 1000kg, velocity 20 m/s
Car 2: mass 1200kg, velocity 0 m/s

Calculate the momentum of Car 1:
mom = mv
mom = 1200*20
mom = 24000kg m/s

Calculate the velocity of both the cars after they have an impact:
mom after = mom before = 24000kg m/s
vel = mom/mass
vel = 24000/(1000+1200)
vel = 10.9 m/s

So that's the only context I can see momentum being used in: for two objects colliding with each other (player colliding with buildings and pushing them) hence I said nudging buildings.

By momentum if you mean building up speed and keeping it, isn't that acceleration and deceleration?

I have two copies of JSRF, and I'm trying to base it more around the style of JSRF because I'm not too keen on the physics of the first game as it feels more stiff.

no no no... Momentum

I mean, just NO. Acceleration and deceleration are PART of momentum. I mean... gah. If you're not sure of this stuff, you need to learn it. Physics are kind of important in a game like this, even if they're not done terribly realistically. I'm not saying you need to take a physics class before you can code this (maybe you do, I don't know), but you need to understand a bit of why things move the way they do. You know, PHYSICS.
