(EDIT! Someone suggested I use Firma! Thanks Cosmic Prophet! However, there are now some new problems with that program. It's free, so it's still great, but any advice on that now would be appreciated. Please see a few posts below. I'll put the attachment here, too.)

I'm currently trying to make myself some grunge floor segments. Unfortunately, any time I click my mouse (right OR left click) in TGC Segment Creator screen, the program crashes. Now, I know it's an internal development program, so it's somewhat spotty, but after watching the tutorials, it seems that click-and-drag is the only way to lower my floor mesh to sit on the ground and therefore, quite necessary unless I want a floating floor. Everything else, such as adding the textures, work fine. It's just trying to click-and-drag.

Has anyone else had this problem? I've been reading this forum for help, and someone else nmentioned the need for an 'integrated graphics card'. What does this mean, exactly? It's worked fine thus far FPSC itself. Does this mean I might not be able to create my own segments? Thank you in advance.

Thanks a lot, Cosmic Prophet! This does work way better!

I was wondering something else now, though. The Firma program works fine in and of itself, but there are some issues with how my floors are being rendered.

I included an attachment so you can see what I'm talking about, but Firma seems to be adding a thin white line to the joint of some of my floors. It doesn't seem that large in the images, but it is quite distracting in the actual game since it makes it obvious that the road is just chunks.

Do you know why this could be? As you can see, there is no line in the original, and it doesn't happen to all of my textures... only some. Is there a way to fix this? Why would it only happen to some textures? Their help file doesn't say much.

Thanks again for all of your help! I hope you see this.

It appears to me that the textures you are using are not tiling properly. Even though there appears to be no line visible in the texture, when the two are placed side by side, the grey color that gives it the grainy look is offset from each other.

It's an easy fix though. send me the textures you want to use for your road, and I'll be glad to fix them for you. As well, I will make up a short tutorial of the process as I go, to show you how to correct this in the future.

Hard to tell from the images but it looks like the top of your texture is seamed at the bottom. If this is so its likely that your image is a couple of pixels short on one side, check your image sizes and ensure they are 512x 512 and not 512x510 or whatever.

That's also a good possibility. Yes, your textures need to be squared. Thanks Rolfy.

Thanks a lot, you both!

rolfy: I checked again, and they all say 512x512, so I'm not sure if that's it, but thanks for suggesting it so I can double check in the future.

Cosmic Prophet: Oddly enough, I used the exact same grainy overlay on all of my tiles, so it's strange that some would line up while others wouldn't. Still, I'll switch out the segments for the textures in my *.rar and send them over just in case. Thank you for your help! I'll be sure to credit your assistance! I wish I could do even more!
