Whenever I try to render a fluid ("phy make fluid 1" or something like that), I get an error while testing saying:

Dark Physics Runtime Error

"Attempt to create PhysX scene when PhysX hardware not accessible."

I have the latest DB Pro and Dark Physics, my specs are as follows:

Drivers

NVIDIA PhysX Driver - 909.01.21
AGEIA PhysX Driver - up to 2.81

Graphics Card

NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS

I heard that there was going to be a release to fix this, but I never found it. Can anyone help?

Do you have a PhysX ppu card, if not then it only work in software mode.

so
phy start is ok
or
phy start 0,1,0.

Dark Physics makes any hot drink go cold.

I don't think I have a PhysX PPU card.

Also, what does phy start 0,1,0 have to do with anything?

As I understand it, Fluids do not work in software. They are hardware only.

PHY START

will default to Software mode.

Use this,

PHY START PHYSX(), 0, 1

and it will automatically check to see if you have the PPU available, and if so it uses it.

i had the same problem

nvidia geforce go 7600

now mine works. idk what i did. i think it might have been reinstalling the coffee cup on the lower right, and updating it (nvidia driver).

update your nvidia driver for your card model, have nvidia run in the background like it wants, have install the direct x version that TGC links to, and make sure you have the necessary dlls (i installed some TGC and DBP programs that came with dlls, maybe that was what caused it to work later?)

(any of those could account for why my fluid exe's suddenly started running)

I finally got mine to work. Here is what I had installed:
- AGEIA PhyX v2.5.0 (Comes with Dark Physics)

- Dark Physics Expansion Pack
- Dark Physics Expansion Pack - 1.0.1
- Dark Physics Projects

- Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2008)
- Microsoft DirectX SDK (November 2008)

- Nvidia Cuda Toolkit
- Nvidia Drivers
- Nvidia Forceware Network Access Manager

- Nvidia Performance
- Nvidia PhysX
- Nvidia PhysX SDK 2.8.1
- Nvidia System Monitor
- Nvidia System Update

Others: (Doesn't show up on programs list)
- DBP v1.072
- Dark Physics v1.05

PhysX has to be turned on under the Nvidia control panel.

Nvidia's default values need to be changed before it can work.

Here is what I did:
- Open Nvidia control panel
- Switch Anti-aliasing-Mode Off

Note: Nvidia default values cause conflicts.

My Thread (PhyX Processor? Can't run fluids?): http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&b=30&t=137155&p=1

Post on my thread if you have any more questions.

Thanks,
