I am about to get started with a multiplayer game but i don't know too much about the the multiplayer aspects. Can the player cap be raised above 8 without custom programming? Is an internet server browser automatically integrated into the game? Do clients need maps pre-installed or will it automatically download when trying to join a server with a new map? Help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

1) no
2) no FPSC makes it so that you connect directly to the host(that's why the host should be the one with the fastest internet).
3) they need the maps preinstalled
sorry but the multiplayer aspect of FPSC just isn't that developed as the singleplayer portion. I suggest FPSC IP to have some of those features you are asking about.

1) No

2) Yes, it is coded into the engine, atleast I think. You can't change the server with out hard coding it.

3) Yes, you do need the game(map, whatever) installed before you can play.

Dar13, try reading the questions before you answer.

The way FPSC does it is that the players connect to the host not on a server(unless I'm mistaken, why else would you need an IP address?). He was asking if you could set it up so that the player could download an update(like an extra map for example)oops misread that question. I'll learn from that mistake.

He's making a mod for FPSC where you can do that. No, I'm not talking about Lee.

That's confused me a bit? Why does Lee have to say I made it?

No, I think that he was thinking that knxrb was making it for FPSC and not as a mod, and that he was giving it to Lee. Or that he was on the Development Team.

Some people say that I'm crazy... And I agree.

Dar13 is right. I didn't really think of someone else doing it. I thought maybe Lee said that in the migration thread.
