Looks like FPSC X10 is in use there, downloading now, these look great.

-EDIT- Oh, wait, the shader is applied on the texture itself (lighting effect)

I'm certain one of them is a texture from Halo 3. You know, the gooey substance found on the Flood's interior?

...and on the seventh day, Pus rested.

Okay, look, they're okay textures, but it kind of aggravates me that people get such high praise for work that they haven't put an amazing amount of work into. You've just taken pictures on your own and edited them to make them seamless. If you want to show us that you actually have some talent, make some from scratch.

Look, I will say how I do it.Quite simple.

1. I take a photo with my Samsung NV7 ops digital camera

2. I put that picture on my PC

3. I open that picture in Crazy Bump.

4. I choose a shape with Crazybump

5. I play whith Crazybump, until I got the desired result.

6. I take a screenshot

7. I open that screenshot with gimp and i edit that screenshot Cutting, change color, here and there, clone etc.And save it.

8. I use Firma to make a room or walle with this teksture and test it with fpsc.

9. I am satisfied then I put the teksture on the forum.

There will of course be simpler ways to make some teksture's

I also take pictures of ordinary things such as towels, food etc.And edit those photos with gimp and Crazy Bump.

If there's anything I hate in textures, it's 2 things.

Pre-rendered lighting. Lighting, bump mapping and everything else should be handled by the engine. You can get some pretty nasty results by pre-rendering lighting.

Mirroring. Mirroring looks terrible on large objects, simply because it doesnt take a genius to see that the texture has been flipped to "cheat" seamlessness.

Perhaps it's time for you to start learning to paint textures, methinks.

Ditto.

Cram, your explanation is pretty much exactly what I just said. The crazybump bit is pretty much just automated filters, and then editing to make it seamless.

As I said, show us that you have talent with Gimp, and by talent I don't mean 'talent at opening a program applying some filters and making it seamless'. Make a texture from scratch. No photos involved.

Nothing bad about taking shots with your camera and editing them in GIMP or something, I'm thinking of doing it too! It's not like the road has a copyright license on it...

Hehe, I've just done 5 pictures with my phone and they look great lol. Tried to get them look a bit seamless, but some of them came out seamed though lol. I had the quality on full and had an N73 3.2MP.

Personally, I think it doesn't matter how you make them as long as the end result is amazing.

A picture says a thousand words.
