That's what I am working on.

A set of curved segnments (floors, walls, gantries, stairs, ramps, windows, doors, ...) that are double sized in width and depth, i.e in the editor (and game) they are 2 x 2 cell sized.

As an example see the image showing two stairs segments forming a half circled counter clock stair: the lower one is 200 x 50 x 200 and the upper is 200 x 100 x 200. They allow player to rise up one layer.

I think these are unusual segments that could provide new secenario editing.

More stuff is coming, so if interested stay tuned.

Looks fine to me, it's just FPSC making it blurry?!
I guess it might be an idea to line up the edges of the brick texture with the steps (so that each step is only a brick high).
Great idea though. I'm sure this will be popular. Everyone secretly hates the fact that FPSC segments make every level look like it's made of cardboard.

I want robotic legs.

Thanks guys.

To be honest texture was made in a hurry, bricks do not have good alignment.

My concern was the fact that I was getting bad collision when moving from down to up segment, so that player was stuck. Now I fixed it so I can spent time texturing and building new segments shapes.

In previous post I also forgot to say that segments will be released for FREE

...I wondered about the collision issues. It's good to hear that you were aware, and tackled them.

Free? Too kind, veltro. These will be greatly appreciated by many, no doubt...

Looking good! Any segments that break up the big square picture will be greatly received and appreciated by all. Can't wait for the release.

Best.

Another stair segment: 200 x 100 x 200 sized, open with banister, counter clockwise.

please do not take into account texture. It's just to show modelling progress(by the way I think this model is suitable for wood/metal textures)

Which texture theme do you prefer? Do you have any specific request?

The last pic looks kind of bad, the model is ok, but there is no texture.
Perhaps you should look on improving your uv-mapping skills.

Your signature has been erased by a mod - Please reduce the combined size to 600x120 maximum size

You are right! It's worse than bad, but just as stated in previous post

Looks very nice, a brilliant idea. Have you tried using them with light-mapping? I've had a few issues with custom meshes making the lighmapper choke and die. Hopefully yours'll work fine.

Project in progress...

Inspired by ecellent wizard of id work (see http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=145901&b=24) I'm modelling my curved models on the basis of stock models and texture. Of corse meshes are brand new, but they retain stock texture and fit well with stock media.

Now I'm experimenting with doors and the image show the encouraging results: a circular bunker fighting area with doors.

Still a lot of work to do because there are many stock media to be matched and a little floor issue to be fixed.

So be patient before I can release a version of this models

Nice work indeed. I like that folks are doing a lot more with custom segments. It's amazing what can be done with a little imagination, and then used in a variety of ways.
