ok i think i found a clue to start something :

dbWriteDirBlock : with this i can pack a full directory into a file

dbReadFileBlock : with this i can extract a particular file to disk

this method require to extract a file, read it again with a command such dbLoadImage, delete extracted file. this produce too many read/write i/o to disk and also may leave "ghost" files if computer or game crash before delete process.

is there a way to extract the file directly in memory to dbLoadImage buffer ?

Yes that is what I use and seriously, it packs ALL game files into 1 .exe and when you click it, it runs without extracting anything and works fine. highly recommended! A+++++++

with molebox, you can either pack all files into 1 exe or create external resource data files just like Xzod wants.
