Is there some way I could move a texture across a matrix?

shift matrix allows you to simulate the moving of a matrix and its textures.

I tried it but it moved the whole matrix...I just want to scroll the texture across the matrix. I made a sorta river out of a matrix and I want to scroll the water texture along the matrix to make it look like it's moving

perhaps you want to deploy a 3d plain with many divisions and using scroll texture then to achieve the result.

you could also nudge the vertices to simulate waves.

you may have to make one externally as i dont think DBC or DBP can divide the plain into divisions like a matrix.

I'm using triangles instead of plains

Yeah, you can use a plain - also - you could scale the texture so it is repeated over the plain several times.
