Hello i am new to video game design and programming...but i am a big online/multiplayer and single player gamer and have been for years.. im 17 years old and im in college full time so i have access to latest computers ETC... ive just started learning programming software and i am learning at a good pace...

SOON im going to be starting work on a Project to create a playable 3RD person Shooter game... and i need to know a few things i need a good video game creating tool if any of you know a rele good one easy to use and learn pleast could you tell me... also let me know if the ones supported by this site are good..

Also im going to need a good engine that i can work with just a basic one i can start with and build up.

Tips on any good programs to use, anything usefull just tell me

i am still quite new so dont flame me i genuinly need help thanks

hey
im sort of new too. i owuld recommedn dark basic pro for the programming and 3d world studio for the level/map developement. dark baisc pro is 80 dollars. there are 2 books that teach everyhtign about it for 106 us dollars.

programmign is stressful yet great. remeber one thing keep keep trying and you will succeed.

Yes deffinatly get Dark Basic Pro. For a 3d Modeler program I hear Milkshape is easy and cheap ($35) But I don't know for sure. 3dws Is a GREAT tool But be wary if you have vista cuase there are some bugs with it although not very many. ALso if you want a SUPER EASY!!!! yet more expensive program AC3D is awesome! Anyways good luck! and I hope I was able to help!
