Hey,

I have made a character, now I have a .X file but how do I reduce the polycount in Blender 3D?

other solutions, any plugins that manage todo so

Thanks for the sarcasm.
You do realize that polygon-reducers generally are crap, making it much easier to re-model.

sorry, but when i saw that i was really frusterated, with the fact I would have to remodel everything, sorry, but i gonna experiment with deleting veritces and ading faces

Though there is one for blender
Switch to edit mode on the required mesh, select the mesh menu, hover over the scripts option to see that menu and select poly reducer. Play around with the options then select ok.

Action 3d is probably your best choice on a poly reducer but there's one in blender in the scripts section but its better just to remodels becuase the reducers are crap

Basically, if you get the the stage where you need to drastically remove data to make the model usable, you should rethink its design. Blender has a Re-topo tool that can help you remake the topology of the model, but there is no substitute for good planning, and a solid concept base.

Blender's Decimator modifier will work, but as someone said, those things produce bad edge flow, and usually remove a lot of quads. Not nice for a good model.
