hi,
1.)i dowloaded milkshape,Gimp and uv mapper clasic.
2.)i made a model on milkshape and exported in directX8 .X format
i think that was right.
How do you texture and uvmap?
your help would be apprectiated.
i did do a search but found nothing

hi,
got a problem . if its an object i can make it say plain black, how do you make so that it has more than 1 colour/texture on the object

Use Anim8or to model. Follow the manual on there website to learn modeling.

Use uvmapper to get the UVmap of your obj model.
When you open your obj model in uvmapper it will unfold the model. (If you unfolded a box, it would unfold into 6 squares. One for each face of the cube) Then you save that bmp and the uvmapped .obj model.

Texturing. Open the .bmp in GIMP and you can paint each square a different color or copy and paste different textures onto each square. And then save the image as a tga.

Import the uvmapped obj into anim8or and export it back out as a .x (you will need to have that plugin which you can find by looking around the forum or by google ing Anim8or .x exporter)
