Hey I need some advice how could I get loads of zombies attack with out making my game slow.

And when I say loads I mean Left 4 Dead loads.

I was thinking about learning modeling and stick with modling until I can do a decent zombie then some how make it like 5 zombies count as one character could this work?

Thanks

Simple. Use trigger zones. Also, make zombies very weak, and give plently o' ammo...

you will always have an fps drop with a large amount of enemies. heck even with 5 you'll get large decreases in fps.

your idea of 5 zombies being one character would be interesting to see implemented...and entirely possible. say in your game's story there are zombies that are fused together and they are more formidable than normal zombies. that would make sense.

And would that reduce fps since there fused as one character so 5 zombies work off one script and stuff.

FPSC will never be able to give you Left 4 Dead levels of zombies.

End.

AE is right, however using X10 you'll be able to take advantage of GPU instancing, and have, depending on your computer, 20-50 with no fps drop.

Find a nice shotgun and build a good barricade .

No in all seriousness FPSC X10 might be able to handle it, if they are the same model as it has GPU instansing.

Sit down, switch on your XBOX or PS3, complete Call Of Duty: World At War, play zombie mode, see what round you get up to on your own (I got to 14 lol ) then you'll get an idea of zombie advice .

Maybe you can make different zombies that work with the same fpi file. Exactly the same animation frame range but different cycle animation (like the way they move, run, die, attack and idle). that will probably take some load of FPSC, I have never done it though.

I've seen, in a mid-sized level, FPSC can handle 2 chars at once, 3 with 1 or 2 FPS drop, and 4 with 32 FPS. Any more will kill your framerate.

Won't work. I may not know code, but I know FPSC. Forget it. But I know there is atleast one mod that allows for huge amounts of enemies. I've seen a gameplay video showing it.

In Umbra, Butters' used respawns or lives for the characters.
