What I want to do is edit or create entites with a likeness to a bunch of me mates. Only trouble is, I'm not to sure what the best way to go about doing this is. I'm hoping it's as simple as replacing the texture of an existing entity with a custom texture created from a picture of someones head or body.... But like I said, I really have no idea.

Any help would be appreciated.

you need a program like photoshop or gimp that will open .dds files.then open the texture you want to edit replace the face with one of your mates then save it as somthing like my mate_D2.dds,then in the game editor place the model in the test game & right click on it & go to the texture options & tell it to use your texture .easy

hope this helps

cheers henry

Yeah just take a photo of them and then paste the face over the top of an existing texture face.

Make sure the photo is a high resolution so you can clearly see them in game.

Everyone thanks for the help so far. I installed gimp (and the plugin required to open dds files) but I edited the dds files for the unarmed thug in the entitybank, then changed the texture field in the "optional visuals" category to the edited dds file. And nothing happend.

Another option would be to change the texture assigned in the .fpe script to the new one you make, and most importantly make sure you delete the .bin and .dbo file for that entity then when you make your test game it will make a fresh .bin and .dbo file.
