For an official entry, please submit the following:

We've set up a temporary FTP directory that will allow you to upload your work. Here is how you can make use of it.

- Connect to ftp://www.kistech.com
- Log in with username contest, and password contest
- Upload your image file (i.e. BigShip1.jpg)
- In your entry post here, place the following to display your image.

If there are any issues, please email me.

Good luck.

Sorry guys, neither email made it through.

Probably caught in our email provider's spam filter, which I have little to no control over.

I've changed the permissions on the FTP site, so you can upload anything there and can't pull up a directory, so your files are safe.

Nope. I've had this same address since 1996.

Is the FTP not working for you?

Can't you make a new one? As for the FTP I'm not to sure about joining your site, unless I were hired or something. I don't see how you can hire freelancers with out having an email to properly contact them. Especially with that spam filer thing, there's not much point then. I don't just want to send you the file, I have an private message that I would like to send.

I just looked at my email link here in the forum, my apologies. I completely forgot that I had put "NOSPAM" in my email address for the forum link to prevent bots from crawling the forum and harvesting my email address.

Please send your emails again to "info <at> kistech.com".

@_Acid, you don't have to join the site, the username and password for the FTP is in the message at the top of this thread. However, since we now know what was going on with the emails, no need to worry about it.

No worries, I just didn't know what you meant.

[edit]
AHHH, I see. (I had to Google "6th form")

Anyway, this still doesn't mean we wont be contacting you for freelance work. I still like the ship.

Yes.

I received qualified entries from,

- _Acid
- NeoDelito
- SamHH

So those are the winners. Now we just have to decide who gets which prize.

...and the winners are...

$100 First Prize - Neodelito - Small Pirate Ship
Very good modeling and texturing skills.

$ 50 Second Prize - Acid - Solan Battlecruiser
Nice classic space game styling. Would love to see it textured.

$ 25 Third Prize - SamHH - Space Cruiser
This was a tough one. It's a cute little shuttle, and heavily armed at that.
I personally loved that it has a docking port on the bottom.
It almost took second place.

Congratulations to the winners. You've been sent an email with details for claiming your prize.

Many thanks to everyone who helped, joined in the conversation, and entered.

It wouldn't load in GameSpace, so for the purposes of the picture I just loaded it into MilkShape, exported to .X and reloaded with GameSpace.

Not to worry. Acid's didn't load properly into GameSpace either.

No kidding, Congrats Neodelito for winning first prize! Most artists have already moved on to bigger game devs. Most people here are just begginers for the moment.

Ah, make sure you do tools/clean when you import x into milkshape. It sets all the smoothing groups back to normal.

Interesting thing is I've looked all over in MilkShape to find how to Import DirectX files, but all I can find is "Tools > DirectX Mesh Tool" and I use that to copy the mesh into MilkShape.

There's no DirectX option listed in my Import menu.

You can not import a Direct X file into Milkshape.

You can, however, open an X file into LithUnwrap (you can find a link on the 3D Chat threads somewhere) and then save it as a milkshape file from there.

I received my payment, although I was the one he chose for freelance work. I made him a ship as well and he also paid for it. He hasn't sent me an email ever since Neodelito sent me one about not receiving his money. I hope that this isn't what I think it is. I'll keep my mouth shut though until I know whats going on..

Did sam receive his prize money?

I have sent KISTech an email regarding this matter. If I do not hear back from him I will have to consult Lee and his team.

Sorry this has taken so long Neodelito, I was completely unaware of the issue!

I apologize, I haven't been watching this thread lately.

Neo's payment was sent through the bank (online bill pay) but had not cleared when he contacted me via email. I checked with the bank and they said it came back to them in the mail. They didn't say there was anything stating why.

I've confirmed the address with Neo and a personal check from me has been sent.

The other 2 contestants were paid so quickly because they were PayPal transactions.

Thank you all for not assuming the worst, and again Neo, I apologize for the delay.
