Hi i'm a newby and I have read some of the posts about Dark GDK wizard not showing in C++ 2008 express. As a result of reading the posts about this problem i'm yet to get it working. Here is what i have done so far.

1. Installed c++ 2008
2. Installed DirectX 9 August 2007
3. Installed Dark GDK
4. Rebooted the computer.

other than throwing myself in front of a train is there something i'm doing wrong. As i said i'm a NEWBY.

Hi Hayer

I have uninstalled all 3 programs, I Re-installed c++ & compiled before installing DirectX 9 August 2007, then installed Dark GDK. then rebooted the computer. Still same thing no Wizard showing in c++. For something that should be simple to install its not.

I also have checked to see if Dark GDK is in C:\Documents and Settings\my Name\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008. the 3 files Dark GDK, Templates & wizard files are there.

Nothing seems to have changed. Then i checked HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\The Game Creators\Dark GDK INSTALL_PATH C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\Dark GDK. its all there. Is there something i have missed.

First post!

Anyway, I had the same problem and spent ages searching. Eventually I found this site, which fixed it for me. No reinstalling required.

The link

Please tell me if it works for you!

Hi all,
i tried to install the DarkGDK using the tutorial. I done all. However i have two problems.
One is that i haven't in the regedit The game Creators/Dark GDK voice.

Another problem is that when i compile an error message tell me that can't include DarkGDK.h

You must change the .vsz files and set the absolute pad, check the tutorial.

I have a problem. An error message tell me that can't find DarkGDK.h, if i put all libs and headers in the project directory another error message tell me that can't find D3DX9.h
help?

No problem, glad you got it (kind of) fixed

If you follow all the steps on that link, you should not get that error. As apocaliv said, make sure your paths in the vsz files are correct.

Yes apocaliv, you haven't set VC++'s directories.

In the Dark GDK installation directory there should be a file called Installation.pdf, you can find out how to set the appropriate directories there
