yeh lol i needed a break from the higher poly cars so thought this would be a bit of fun .

time taken
10 mins for reference images & texture map
30 mins for the model
10 mins for uv mapping
2 mins to make it fpsc ready
rest of the time spent taking screenie

total time taken 56 mins

its very low poly & there are a few screw ups on the model & texture that i didnt have time to fix but im happy with the way it turned out.

a few more screenies

texture map

render

wireframe

i will upload the model to my website later

cheers henry

I dont think people can use this in a commercial game.

Anyway about the UV... the model itself looks good and all.
But you could re-edit the UV a bit.. Right now it holds many empty places.
You could rescale the wheel for instance (in the UV of course).
And also..(i am a big fan of range rovers) the proportions dont look like a real one.
Or at least while i was looking again.. in the render it looked nice and all..
But in FPSC it looked a bit rescaled in the widht and a bit shorter in the length.
But i guess thats a problem of FPSC.

Anyway nice looking model. And i do know that you wouldnt re-edit the UV since the model is basically done.
And ready for uploading but still.

And cheers for the car!
Also great job!

And we have a Winna! Great job Henry. Why did it take so long?

Love your work, my friend. Now I'm gonna go play with your car.

Because on the back it says Range Rover.
And i guess thats a name of their product.
Not a normal regular word...i think.

Pretty nice model for the speed well done and thanks.

Cheese Cake might have a point there about it having Range Rover.

...very nice Henry Ham!

I tend to agree with Cheese Cake and s4real, regarding the Range Rover trademark. Omitting it would probably not be a bad idea.

Either way, this is top-notch stuff. Thanks for the generosity...

Great job! Nice clean simple model. Any chance for a tutorial? What do you model in? Do you always make your texture map first? Does that streamline your model making? Sorry for so many questions. I'm finally trying to get a basic understanding of model making.

no not always ,but for this model i was short on time so i made the texture & used it as the model referance as well ,this makes life easy for the uv map as the basic shape is on the model & the texture so theres not a lot of editing to do .

if you want to do it this way an easy start is to layout a simple box texture ( 6 squares all the same size on a 512 512 page )then paste in your textures save it ,then open your modeling app make a cube then apply your texture to it then ,go into uv mapping & map each side with a planer map laying each one ontop of one of your 6 squares .thats it you have a box mapped & ready to go.

hope this helps

I erased the "Range Rover', it took almost a minute. still a great model. THANKS.

It would be cool to be sued by Range Rover over something so trivial...lol
