So I haven't posted much stuff lately, but here's something I whipped up last night.
The reason why I made a head is because I need some practice in the area and I thought I did a pretty half-decent job on this one.
Oh and also, this has my very first ear model, and I'll tell you it's a hassle to model but it worked out eventually and I'm actually quite proud of that thing. (Hence the smoothed screenshot of it etc.)
It isn't meant to be low poly but it is about 1300 polygons which I realize is overkill for most things but this was more of an edge loop practice than anything else.

This is great.

Can't see much to criticize(that's usually your job ). But I think the ears need to be rotated so they are upright.

The person I was modeling after had his ears like that. And I quite like it.

I think his head needs to be, more outwards..
So far its quite squashed, the neck is perfect, but the actual head needs to be widened slightly.

Looks great, can't really find anything wrong with it. Like Deathead said, it looks a little squashes, but your reference probably looked like that so it's not a flaw.

Nice job, except the only major thing I see wrong with this head is that the ears are too low. If you trace your finger from your nose to your ear, you should end up plugging your ear with your finger. I think the problem you had was lining up your reference photos for both side and front. Also, maybe it was just this particular person in your reference, but your ear is rotated a bit. Not sure about this though. It just looks off.

EDIT: Looks like someone commented about the ear rotation already. Can we see your reference? I mean I know things differentiate person to person, but I'm having a hard time imaging someone's ear actually being that rotated and that low on the skull. What ever floats your boat, but that's the critique I'm giving it.

Yours:

Here's the reference, although be aware that I'll probably remove this image soon seeing as it's bought and I probably am not allowed to do this. But I'll leave it up for now.

ponders for a moment on the ramifications,## right click/ save as/ stole

seriously though why did you buy it? i prefer the stalker approach, randomly taking pictures of people// good times// it had me fit enough to run 3 miles lol//, of course i do have to ask now and then.

I think one of the best character reference for anyone is DAZ3D. It's free and after all, there's nothing wrong with using a model to get those perfect ortho view pics. Just don't cheat by copying the wireframes. And it is perfectly legal to save out pics and use them for reference. Just don't use their models or textures. Just though I'd mention that incase nobody though of it.

(edit) the head looks pretty good, the ear makes it look awful strange. but other than that, it looks pretty good.

What's wrong with the ear? I thought it was the position of the thing, and I just looked, my ear is in a similar position to that ear as well. And I've never heard anyone complaining about that.

to me it just looks like it is down abit far, almost looks like it is sitting on the back of his jaw. In the reference pic I can see his head is tilted back abit. maybe that is why it seems off.

Even still good job. If there is anything i'd change though, I'd maybe bring the chick bones out a little to give him a little more definition in the face.

The ear looks good to me. The reference pic Sid Sinister posted looks more unnatural to me, like it's too perfect or something. It's the variations that make it look like a real human I think, especially once it's textured. The head does look very thin from the front though, if I saw someone in person with a head that thin I would be creeped out.

I forgot to mention that yes, I am aware of the head's thickness issue and it's being addressed as we speak.
