UPDATE: Well, now I know I should have asked earlier and stopped wasting so much time. After reading and re-reading all those threads, it turns out that I had an error in making my Trigger Zones (geez). Thanks to Pain for the suggestion and thanks to Red Eye for discovering the problem!

Yes, I know that FPSC x9 water has been discussed an innumerable number of times. I have read/downloaded every option that I could, but I still remain unable to make any work.

I would have posted these questions as responses to original threads, but some are closed. Others relate to more than one person, and I didn't want to spam by repeatedly posting the same/similar inquiries in multiple threads. I also wanted to ask the general board, rather than bother the authors. I'm most likely just missing something, since these methods have worked for others.

--------------------

To all those who use a method enacting 'Trigger Zone' activation (ex- Red Eye and Hockeykid):

(1) I am creating a river, and that means that the player could hypothetically drop into the water anywhere along the embankment. Therefore, when choosing a random point to jump into, I sometimes do not hit the Trigger Zone (let's say it's placed in the center, and I drop into the end). This means that I need to run part way down the non-blue stream before any of underwater appears. How have people remedied this?
(NOTE about hockeykid: It seems that his water color can appear before actually hitting the Trigger Zone, but adjusting the 'plrdistwithin' to make it larger/smaller does not seem to solve this because then the water HUD also seems to appear before even reaching the river. I could not get changing "plrdistwithin to plrwithinzone=1 and plrdistfurther to plrwithinzone=0" to do anything.)

(2) I also tried putting a separate Trigger Zone for each block, but then it restarts the timer each time I move. This means, for example, that it replays the 'splash' noise and restarts the countdowns for bubbles (for Red Eye) and health-deduction. This makes sense, since I'm technically entering a new Trigger Zone with each movement, but I don't know what else to do. Perhaps I am missing some essential key to Trigger Zones?

--------------------

B: To all those who have lined their walls with the FPSC Sprites (ex- icycold 2367):

(1) I simply cannot get them (ex- Ocean overlay) to align properly and cover all four walls as others have. I tried rotating, but I seem to be missing something.

(2) It also creates a problem where I cannot see the water surface from below, despite using decalfixed.fpi/e). I do not have this problem with the above 'Trigger Zone' solution because I am using Red Eye's recommended Helix decal, but the Ocean overlay nevertheless seems to have worked fine for others.

(3) It has been recommended that users utilize a blue light source and a fog trigger with this method. Of course, triggering reverts back to the initial problem.

--------------------

C: To all those who have used the efxMod (by Helix):

(1) This one is fairly simple: I cannot find it anymore. It appears to have been taken down. I would love for someone to show me where to find it, but I don't know if anyone can.

--------------------

So yes... that is my compilation of water inquiries. Apologies if these have basic answers, but I have been unable to find them elsewhere. Also, if anyone else has other suggestions regarding how to produce FPSC x9 water, they'd be appreciated.

Hey,

If you do SHIFT-LEFTMOUSE Button, you can drag out the trigger box.

If you have a entity, or decal. Click Twice "b" on your keybord.
Look what it does.
And try using 1,2,3,4,5,6, on your keyboard, to rotate your entity, or decal in any way you like.

This problem is stated on his thread. Take time to look at the posts and you will find out.

Can you explain this in simpel words. I didn't folow that.

That one is indeed very good, but the problem of decals is, that you cant see it from beneeth.

I have included this in my script. It should work.
Look in my thread to check for more bug fixes, made by Hockeykid and by me.

Next update of the mod, it will be online again.

Off Topic: I and Hockeykid are making a water (more realistic), but as I and he have little time, the progress of it, has gone slowly. Please Stay Tuned.

@Pain: Thanks! I found it!

@Red Eye: You are my savior!

THAT WAS IT!
Geez, I feel stupid. It just goes to show how something relatively small can really ruin everything.

I did all that before. The problem is that it doesn't stay in line with where I place it. I'm wondering if it's because I'm not using a flat wall surface or something (I'm using the cliff), but I will set it up against the wall, and it ends up moving away from it. I suppose it doesn't matter now, though, since I got the other method to work.

I did take the time and read it quite a few times, actually... which was my whole problem. I've been putting off the water for a couple weeks now trying to get it. What I was saying was that when I took the actions related to that quote, nothing seemed to happen for me. I now think it was the trigger zone, though.

Oh, it's alright now. You indirectly answered it.

Quote: "That one is indeed very good, but the problem of decals is, that you cant see it from beneeth."

Really? I can see it from beneath. I just lay the decal sideways and use the decalfixed script.

Thanks. I already had checked and changed the fog, sound error, etc. When I was talking about light sources, I was referring to the other method.

Ahh, thank you.

Thanks a ton, Red Eye. In the end, I decided to use the script that you wrote and hockeykid edited. Now that everything is set up correctly, it works like a charm!
