I know I already have a contest running, but I am starting up a small thing that I can hopefully do twice monthly. A small screenshot challenge. Here is how it will work: Each person who enters must post one shot (800*600 or 1024*768). You may use photo effects, and it may help you win. Every challenge will have a theme. There are no prizes, but you get to choose the next theme. If someone would like to donate a prize, preferably a tool or program for fpsc, that they would send to a winner twice a month, please do. But I don't have any as of right now.

Theme: Modern horror

Challenge ends: March 20, 11:59 PM (Atlantic Standard)

You do realize this is a screenshot challenge, right? And that is an example.

It must be your own. It's not a screen editing contest, but effects are allowed. You don;t need them, just a screen.

My entry is attached. Don't open it too quickly! In fact, I'd think twice about opening it at all.

Best.

Your photo should be .jpg and should have been made after the challenge started, I will accept this, but only this time.

I'm not really sure if this is modern enough, but well.
I used the cross draw thing in Photoshop, and increased light in the hole in the top. This screen is from the game I'm making, btw.

I'm making a game that will be scary... I hope.

Honestly, it was extremely close between xplosys and Zay333. Here is what I thought of them:

Xplosys - Definitely creepy, I jumped the first time I opened it. I liked the in-your-face zombie aspect of it. Great way to freak out a player, good job.

Zay333 - I LOVE the idea. Driving down a highway in the middle of the woods and all of the sudden you sea Leather Face standing there, chainsaw roaring. More original than most of them, great idea.

...The winner is... Zay333! What really made his shine is that he perfectly showed that it doesn't have to be dark to be creepy. The fact that it was daytime, was really cool.

Zay333, please choose what theme you want for the next screenshot challenge.

Zay333 isn't replying. I think he should be disqualified. So the winner is Xplosys! And how was my screenie? Well mine sucked.

I can't texture. I'm not an artist.

So what if he isn't replying? He will eventually. Besides, you can't disqualify someone for not being on a computer 24/7.

You are in no place to be saying who wins or loses.

Thank you,

This is the first time I have been on since yesterday. I do not go on that often. He probably doesn't either.

If he does not reply, I will email him.

Good idea. And another good idea, every time someone wins, they will have the choice of judging the next challenge, but not obligated. Zay333 will judge this one. I am posting a new thread later today for the second challenge, which is countryside.
