Okay it's been awhile since I've released the last version of this program so a brief recap

DarkChip 8 is a Chip 8 and Superchip emulator. Chip 8 was used on old 1802 based computer systems back in the late 70s-early 80s.

The last version of DarkChip 8 was basically a complete emulator for both Chip 8 and SuperChip so what's left to do? Make additions and enhancements!

First, I ported the code over to DBP and after fixing a few things that broke in the transfer to DBP I started work on adding a new feature called Enhanced Mode Graphics which will add color to the black and white games of Chip 8 and SuperChip.

This release only has support for 3 games. Blinky (for Chip 8), Blinky (for Superchip), and Tetris. Support for more games will be added in future releases.

I download your Darkchip8 but I get a runtime error: "COULD NOT LOAD SOUND AT LINE 8"

I feel like to see it!

Don't you just hate things like that. You forget to include one itty bitty sound file and the whole program refuses to run... <sigh>

Actually I overlooked the Add Media to EXE...

Well it's only one very tiny wav file called beep.wav which is used for the sound in Chip 8 and Superchip. I've updated the zip file to include this file now.

Glad to hear it works for you now. Be sure to check out the Blinky games and Tetris in Enhanced Mode.

A z80 emulator huh? Well how about something that uses a CPU very similar to the z80 and is handheld and has been popular for a very very long time. I am working on a GameBoy emulator at the moment as well. At the moment it is able to load 32K rom images (even from a zip file) and emulate the CPU. It's only started to do this so it's not ready for release yet and it needs sped up with some optimizations. I also haven't added in video emulation or sound but I'll post updates on the progress as it happens

dont forget, the z80 processor was used in the TI82, 83, 83+, 85, and 86 calcs (ah, my good ol TI83+, where I first entered the world of programming )

hey blade..i commonly use a function in my proggys to prevent runtime errors from occuring..like this..
